Harry Potter: Spell Deck and Interactive Book of Magic

My daughter absolutely loves Harry Potter and this was just a great product to get her. Brilliant quality and would make any Harry Potter fan pleased

My grandaughter loves this game and it gets her off utube. So is a great success.

Fabulous

First off the package is smaller than I guessed from the pictures, at about 4.5 inches by 3 or so and therefore the book inside the package is even tinier. Another guess, this is a "self published" item to just spin revenue by cobbling together a few bits about the Harry Potter stories. It may be enjoyed by a child but for a little bit of effort it could be significantly improved and be far more usable. I have guessed "self published" because there has been no consideration given to how Amazons mediocre fullfilment methods will actually spit the book out and so margins and gutter that would have allowed for the tight glue back binding do not exists. Therefore when a child tries to use it they really have to push the pages back to get it open enough to write in, since they have to write in it, and the book will pretty quickly no doubt fall apart as the spine is vigourously and repeatedly squashed. It is almost as if there was no publishing guidance or consideration for what the final product will look like other than getting it in a self enclosed case. Contentwise? Well, it's just about ok and a child with a passing knowledge of the Harry Potter books will quickly work through it and move on - perhaps 2 days for the average reader, ergo not great value for money. If it was in a slightly larger form factor the "book" would be quite clearly a booklet of maybe 10 pages.

Only a little box - the size of a pack of cards. Very unimpressive to see. Contents probably fine for a HP fan, but as a present it definitely lacks the Wow factor. Doesn't look worth £12. Recipient will probably think I paid £4 in a market. Size is on the ad so can't say they didn't show it. But suspicious that 15 ratings all say 4.8 out of 5 stars but not one of them has left a comment about the product. Are they genuine? Am returning. Heavy postage but still not worth the money, and I like HP too.
