Exactly what I was looking for
I was looking for a pull-up bar that doesn’t need to be screwed to the wall. I bought a couple of different ones last year and the year before that, while they were ok to use for some time, they soon became useless because they needed to be put on the door every time I’ve wanted to stretch on the bar. The last straw was the pull-up bar falling on my kid when he was trying to use it.Then I found out that there is actually another type of pull-up bars that don’t need to be screwed either. Decided to go ahead with this one, used it 6 days in a row, didn’t move an inch. See photos for comparison old and new one, and also how it looks in the doorway. And yes, I can actually close the door when not using it.Update after 3 weeks of use: It needs to be tightened up from time to time to make sure it's secure, fell down today but unlike the other bar I used, this one didn't fall on the head but rather slipped down along the door frame. Also, it does leave marks on the spots it's installed. As with any other equipment, be careful.

Definitely holds the weight
I've used this for a month now a few times each week and it holds super firmly. Put it in a standard door frame and it's definitely in there. Doesn't damage the frame from what I can tell but I'm not putting it in and taking it out, it just stays up there.A couple cons:- It's not the easiest thing to put into the door frame and take out. I wouldn't want to do this every time I wanted to use it, so probably plan to put it up somewhere and leave it there.- The grip is pretty narrow, so that's great for chinups but not as good for pullups. Of course there's no perpendicular grip for hammer pull ups.Overall, definitely a good one if you've got a door that can't accommodate the type that hooks onto the rim around the door. I used to have that one but my new place the doors have all this trim that won't allow for that anymore. This definitely works and is very solid.

It's great, if you install it correctly
The instructions are so poorly written, you're almost better off not reading them at all. That said, the bar is simple to install and practically foolproof. The only way this thing is going to fail is either misuse, or improper installation. Unless the bar snaps or is otherwise physically compromised, it is YOUR fault if it falls.Getting it set up can be a little tricky. You have to "widen" the bar by rotating the center segment while holding the end feet stationary, until the width is almost identical to your door frame. Then you can place it in your doorway, and tighten it in place. I did it solo, but having an extra set of hands would save a lot of time. For the record, you cannot overtighten the bar when you're putting it in. As long as you're doing it by hand, you really want to get it as snug as possible. If you can't do a pull-up already, maybe get someone who can to help you put this thing in. Seriously, get it twisted in tight. Failure to do so is the main reason you'll see folks complaining. When you think it's good enough, keep going. You aren't going to break anything. There may be a Herculean figure with forearms strong enough to crack a door frame by overextending the bar, but anyone in that kind of shape probably isn't buying something so they can work out in their bedroom. For average people, there is no way to go too far, so tighten it as far as you can. And for the first week or so, check it and tighten it down more if you can, as your door adjusts it might relax a little. After all that, congrats. You have something that'll last forever.

Good Sports Equipment that deserves investment when staying at home
The first thing I want to say about this equipment is the easiness of installation. I am such a newbie when it comes to installing furniture. But this time, when I followed the manual that comes with words and detailed pictures, it cost me only minutes to set it up, which made me so happy before exercising. Besides, the packaging is also environmentally friendly, which I want to speak highly of Amazon this time. Regrading the product, the width of this bar could be adjustable, which increases the adaptability of setting up everywhere at home. Furthermore, the designer is so sweet to add the cotton handles to the bar, protecting my hand when I am hanging there. One more thing, the extra fractional force provided by the head of the bar guarantees the safety of pulling up. My roommate and my weights for references here: the roommate is about 180 lbs and mine is 110 lbs. Both of us feel okay and secure when doing the exercise. HAHAHA, in all, I would say go for this bar. I hope all of us can stay healthy when we are staying at home.

Creative design; easy to use; confident in the bar staying up
I've been using this daily for a few weeks now and am impressed with the design. The quick-release latch makes it easy to check for tightness: it's getting colder here in the Midwest so door frames are definitely changing shape. I've only had to tighten this only a few times; one time by quite a bit but seemed to fit with a sharp decline in temperature. If I can hear the bar shift+tighten (essentially activating the gravity-tightening mechanism) then I spin-tighten the bar some more because I'd rather not have the bar give way if I accidentally shift too much weight off too quickly. I full confidence in this bar.

Incredible customer service
My husband bought the pull-up bar and let it sit around for three months before installing it. He finally gave it a try a couple of days ago because we are on our third week of shelter in place and he had time to get stuff done. The bar looks sturdy and is easy to install. However, our doorways all have decorative molding and none of them are wide enough. So now I'm trying not to get mad at my husband for not installing it sooner and doing what looks like waste our money. I contact the seller; he/she offers to refund me even though I was clearly out of the return window. I hope I will need to purchase something from them again because as far as customer service, they are the best.
