I’d always recommend a chemex
The media could not be loaded. Hello! I’ve been in the coffee business for over 3 years now. Majority of the time good equipment (along with fresh coffee) is key to a good cup of coffee. The Chemex is definitely that. With the filters to match, fresh coffee, and a steady flow of hot water you will have a gourmet cup of coffee. I recommend you start with 50 grams of coffee, and 700 grams of water (about a 25 ounce cup). You can always adjust if it’s too strong or weak. The best way to do it is to have a slow steady stream of water rotating in a circle around the top. Trying to avoid bubbles (sometimes it happens don’t worry). It takes about 3 minutes of your time, and makes for a great morning. It is yummy, relaxing, and aesthetic.

Rich, delicious taste
I’m not an avid coffee drinker but my husband is. I brought this to try for him and we both love the fresh brewed coffee. It’s a totally different experience compared to the pods. We use fresh coffee beans and we are enjoying the best coffee every morning. The aroma of the brewing is such a pleasure. My guest love having coffee at my house.

No regrets
Love the Chemex. Coffee tastes so much better. And it looks nice too! Wasn’t hard to figure out the right amount of grounds to water for our tastes. Probably could have gotten away with the 8 cup but will be good to have when we have guests. Takes up a lot less room on the kitchen counter than the big coffeemaker we were using. Bought the insurance too just in case my husband breaks it 😉

Makes great coffee!
My husband loves it! It took a few tries to make the perfect cup of coffee but now that he has it figured out, he loves the flavor. It look better than having a clunky coffee maker on our counter. We have a hot water pot that is used daily for tea, hot chocolate, etc. and it is nice to eliminate the standard coffee maker/small appliance from our kitchen.

Chemex bundle
Having the filters as part of the package is nice, I have been using a French press for years. The chemex makes the best cup of coffee I have ever had. Don’t be in hurry with the water. It takes 4-5 min to brew. No longer than the French press. The 10 cup is larger than expected. An 8 cup would have been fine for 2 people.

Cleanest Cup of Coffee
With the right grind, a scale, a gooseneck kettle and follow the directions and I promise you will love the coffee you make.My only complaint is cup size is defiantly unamerican at 5oz.

No lid and no handle.
One thing I didn't take into consideration when I bought this pot. it has no lid at all to keep any dust out of it. Plus, when you make the coffee, even the wooden cover is too hot to hold on to.
