Works perfectly fine.
Seems to be a great moisture meter. I believe it's accurate and the readings are consistent. Before and after planing shows a difference of .4% which proves this meter was worth the money. It also works great for other materials. Would recommend.

Cheaper than getting a surveyor In
Used this to check how wet walls were after a flood or escape of water as insurance call them. This helped gauge how dry our building was for repairs to start

Damp Meter
As described, not sure of the accuracy???

Useful Pinless Damp meter
Used to measure damp levels in my caravan. East to operate. Compared to a pinned damp meter and the readings are similar.

Doesn’t even power on
Absolutely rubbish, cheap junk that won’t stay powered on. What a waster of time and effort!

According to this tool my whole house is full of moisture?
So I tested this tool on the exterior wall of our 1960's brick build semi-detached house. I can see the tar DPM on the brick line near to the ground. As expected on masonary setting the bricks below the DPM are Over Limit so they are full of moisture. I knew this would be the case, there are salt deposits on the brick level immediately below the DPM so this shows that evaporation is happening and the mineral salt is left behind. Above the DPM the value drops down significantly from 50% down to roughly 20% and then the lowest its gets it about 12-15% about a meter up the wall. This is an expected result. However when I move inside the house, the kitchen walls, apparently OL readings all over the wall from the floor to the ceiling. I can only assume this must be something to do with the painted finish? I also check the hallway internal brick wall and the same Over Limit reading. We do not have an issue with blistering or mould in this house, so I can only assume that the tool is giving a false reading, but why this is I am unsure, I can only put it down to the paint finish.

Received broken
Received broken. Powers on for a second and then powers off. I've tried different batteries and still doesn't stay on. Defective and returning to Amazon.

Not accurate for masony setting
Got this to measure moisture in the concrete floors in our new build about 12 weeks after they went down. We had the setting to masony but the readings were off the chart. We knew it couldn't be right as we had underfloor heating on during that time and the weather had been especially sunny. Got the builder and our floor installer to check using their moisture readers and the result came back fine - so we knew ours was wrong. Haven't used it since, maybe we got a dud but this was not accurate at all!!!

I purchased this to detect moisture inside of my home. It works great and is a simple tool for even a basic DIYer. The device is easy to read, the brightness of the display is just right...especially in dark places. The price is good, given that Klein is a very reputable brand with quality tools. I was able to scan all of my walls and detected another area of high moisture that I was unaware of....unfortunately! Definitely a useful device to see what is happening on the inside of your walls.

Works good. no damage to material.

Works as advertised. Comparing this with a pinned model (half the price) that a neighbour borrowed and never returned Pros: - Multiple modes for different materials - Easy to use - Accurate, clear readings - Pinless Cons: - Uses 9V battery - Price (even on sale)

Eu recomendo e uso.

I don't know how this tool works, but it's magic. It is very easy to use and causes no damage to the surface being tested. The hardest part of using this tool is finding a flat surface that fits the entire unit. Most of the time that's not a big deal because floors, walls, wooden boards etc. are pretty flat. My challenge was with crown mouldings. The sensor is a small patch on the back of the meter, but to get the sensor to lie flat on the wall you need the entire unit to lie flat. Fortunately this is easier to use than a stud sensor because you just need to find some orientation that gets a portion of the sensor into contact with your surface of interest. In addition, you can see the readout change as you approach the surface so you can tell how well you are doing. Measuring the moisture level of a dry area helps to determine if you are getting good enough contact to the region of interest. For my need this was much better than a pin type meter because it did not drive any holes or pinpricks into the surface of my walls. Because it causes no damage I was able to test many areas to determine what dry was before getting to the area of concern. I definitely would not have done that if it meant putting little holes into the wall.
