Withstood a break-in
Someone attempted to break into several lockers (including mine) last week by smacking all the locks with hammers. This lock was damaged severely but withstood the attack and did not break. Other locks were not as fortunate. So it did it's job. Well worth it.

Good little locks. One nit to avoid when programming the combo.
These are good little locks. Sturdy for their size. However I wasted one of them because the instructions were confusing. If you mis-program the combo, it can easily end up with an unintended combo, rendering the lock useless.Follow the instructions that come with the lock.Just before you set the new combo, you push the shackle down while rotating it to the right.AFTER you set the new combo, you are to rotate it back to the left side. During that left rotation, DO NOT HOLD DOWN the shackle; simply rotate it until it pops up. Your new combo is then set.

Solid, Simple, Get’s the Job Done
These Amazon Basics combo locks are a great little win for securing gym lockers, travel bags, or just keeping the kids out of certain cabinets (yep, been there). They’re lightweight but feel sturdy, easy to set up, and the combo wheels don’t stick or jam.I love that there’s no key to lose (because let’s be honest, that always happens). Clean design, reliable performance, and budget-friendly. Grab the 2-pack—you’ll find more uses than you thought.

Good Value Lightweight Lock
The perfect lock for gym lockers, ammo cans, tackle bags, garden gates, toolboxes, etc. Combo is easily and quickly changed to your favorite 4 digit number. Nice, easy to understand directions in English and several other major languages. Not intended for high-security applications and not as durable as the old Master combo locks we used in high school. However, these are a Good Value for the price.

Strong, easy to use combination locks
These Amazon Basics combination locks are sturdy and easy to use. Once set with a personal 4 digit code, they're hassle free and even a young child can use them at school. I love that you get two for such a reasonable price. In my initial order one of my locks didn't work. I reached out to Amazon and they replaced my order the very next day. I would recommend these.

Clunky. Don't change the combo once you set it.
I usually use the same combo for identical looking locks (I purchased several sets for general purpose locks)Then once in a while I'll change all the combos for security.Don't do this. The reset may or may not take. If it doesn't take, the new combo is stuck in some mysterious state. You'll end up trying to guess what the new one is.By the time, you figure this out, it is way too late to return these useless clunkers. Their only remaining useful purpose is to practice locking picking.*****If you take a look at the ratings for this product you will see that 1 star ratings are 10% of the total ratings. Now a friend of mine is an MBA who majored in marketing. His take is a good product has less than 3% 1 star ratings. Any product with 10% 1 star ratings is probably suffering from serious quality control problems. And if you read many many reviews, you'll realize the product works most of the time but apparently about 10% of the time it's completely defective. The take away lesson is - many companies have figured out Amazon's return window. They will allow long term problems to pass through quality control (assuming they have quality control). Pay attention to the percentage of 1 and 2 star ratings. Many customers initially submit happy reviews that quickly turn sour when the product fails. My new personal rule which I formulated after reading all my one star reviews - if the combined total of the 1 and 2 star ratings exceeds 5% I look for a different product. If they all exceed 5%, then I'll change to a completely different product category that might get the job done. If that doesn't work, I buy direct from a company that has better policies than Amazon.

You shouldn't have to set your combination to open and close your lock both!
These are decently made little locks or they appear to be anyways and the combination is really easy to set and to turn the numbers is really easy also which is good but you shouldn't have to set your combination also to lock your lock because you should only have to set your combination when you open it and I don't understand why so many of these lock companies make it where you either can't turn the numbers when your lock is opened or you can't close your lock unless your combination is set because you should be able to turn the numbers and close your lock when your combination isn't set and your combination should only have to be set when you actually open your lock because it makes it more hassle to have to set your combination to close the lock just like if your numbers won't turn when your lock is opened and your combination is set then anyone can see what your combination is for example if your lock is opened during the day for example and they can return at night to enter your gate or shipping container or whatever and this lock allows you to turn the numbers which is good but you have to set your combination to close the lock or open the lock both which doesn't make sense to me so because of that i'm giving it 3 stars plus the way you set the lock combination could accidentally be changed but compared to other locks that have the same type of combination setting design this one actually does take more effort to push it down when you turn the shackle sideways to get into the right position so I don't think it's that bad and I don't think you'll really accidental change the combination as easily as others and the lock overall is okay but I just don't like how you have to set your combination accurately to close it as well as open it but for the low price and being a smaller less robust lock as everyone should already know they're not bad.
