It works for keeping pipe away from combustionable materials.
I used these for a ceiling sleeve for B vent piping. Good quality, no issues.

Quality thimble
I used this to route my diesel heater ducting through a shed wall. I built a small shed to house the heater outside to keep it out of the weather and just the duct work (heated air and the return air) to the building I needed to heat. It wasn’t the perfect size for the duct but I made a sheet metal adapter to make it a clean fit and install.

3.5 inch pipe opening.
Too big. The interior diameter, which all the specifications say should support a 3 inch pipe, is slightly larger than 3.5 inches, which means it is being manufactured or advertised incorrectly. If it had a 4 inch opening I could maybe assume I received the wrong item, but it is too small for a 4 and too big for 3. Maybe it is designed to work with another piece of hardware specific to this brand, but it does not say so in the description. I don’t have time for a return, so I will be cutting my own adapter to make it work.

great product at a great price
It is a perfect fit and is sturdy enough for my application. I used it to run a small wood stove (guide gear) chimney flu through the wall of a cabin/shed. It is working good.

For information, if you plan to buy the Selkirk wall thimble, it is not compatible with standard single wall ducts, because the size of the hole is larger in order to accomodate double wall ducting.
