King James Reference Bible Bonded Leather – 16 Mar 2004

I bought this for a technology-phobic friend, who was buying for my mother, so I've heard all the praise and criticism. For myself, the cover is too thin - and while leather, doesn't feel substantial enough. It needs to be kept in the box, I imagine. I was sad to note that the description did not specify that it was red for the words of our Lord, as my mother doesn't like that particularly and I would not have bought it, but at least the red was a darker wine colour and not bright. My mother was slightly confused by the centre-column references, which are not all level with (or close to) the scripture being referenced ... having to hunt through the entire column of tiny print letters for the right reference is tedious (and hard, for people buying a large print bible because they are losing their sight) and somewhat unnecessary given the great swathes of space in the centre-column on most pages - I am not sure what Zondervan were thinking when they designed it so). The paper is excellent quality however, and the words are the matchless Word of God giving light in the darkness, so we're keeping it.You get what you pay for, and the quality for price was pretty good at under £20.

I recently bought a Zondervan bible at a local bookstore. The quality of the bible for the price was amazing in my opinion. The binding was sewn. The print was very dark and easy for a person with vision problems to read. My son liked it too but he really wanted the thumb index which the bookstore did not have. I found the same bible on Amazon with the thumb index. First the bible was packaged in a bubble wrap manila envelope. The informational cover that comes on the bible was torn and damaged with a large bend down the front. The leather on the front of the bible had a crease on it where the bend was. Though the bible was still acceptable it could have been packaged better. I was disappointed to find that this bible was glued and not sewn like the other one was. The bonded leather feels nice to the touch. It feels good in the hand not too big. The paper is nice there is minimal ghosting of the text. Overall I think it is a nice bible and I look forward to using it.

This bible was given to me from my son & daughter in-love for Christmas 2 years ago. I have a friend who lost everything except what they took to get away in Katrina. She has had a very hard time since then & one day I asked her to read the book of Psalms as it is so beautiful. She told me she didn't have a bible because it was lost in The terrible storm Katrina. I immediately decided to purchase her a bible just like mine. She was so surprised when she received it. God blesses us in so many ways. God bless us all.

Print is easy to read, not heavy to hold. Leather cover is dark Navy, silver on edges of pages. It lays flat and is indexed. End of verse reference. Words of Christ printed in red. This bible is a pleasure to read. Give your eyes a rest (whether young or old) and enjoy the giant print!

This Bible is everything I thought it would be and more! Well, almost... :o(The ONLY thing wrong with it is it didn't come with any ribbons to use for book-markers, so I had to buy some. But other than that, it is truly wonderful. I loveall of the information that is included in it. Such as Prophecies, Prophecies fulfilled, The Parables of Jesus, The Miracles of Jesus, How to read the bible in a year, very nice maps, etc. There is even a page that tells you how to get saved!Love It!

Good printing and space to write on the side of scriptures. We have given them away as gifts. Happy reading the Lords word!

Really is a beautiful Bible. Very easy to navigate from book to book. Lettering is not super large, but ideal and easy to see. Would certainly recommend.

Great buy! Just the right size Bible with print big enough that you don't have to strain your eyes and give yourself a headache trying to read. Beautiful Bible, it was even better than the picture and I loved it the minute I saw it, it's a deep navy with silver on the sides, and the covers bonded leather so if it's taken care of it will last for years to come. It came on time and was packaged in cardboard so it wasn't damaged when it arrived at all! The pages are a little thin and you can see words from the otherside of the page when you're browsing through the pages but I've noticed alot of Bibles have thinner pages so that's to be expected. Would defenitaly recommend to any one that wants a good and well made Bible.

This was a gift. It had everything the recipient was looking for. It is well made. The price was wonderful.
