McAfee 2016 AntiVirus Plus Unlimited Devices, Key Code [Old Version]

Just successfully loaded this McAfee 2016 AV Plus onto my HP laptop with Win 7 SP 1. Have to say that it was much easier and more clearly guided by the install program and self help info than anything I have done before as far as an AV program. Here's my most helpful tips:1. Use the McAfee Pre Installation program (can google it on line to find it, look for the McAfee Document ID: TS100119) before starting with the actual AV 2016 install (although there is no conflict with ordering it and downloading it onto your email, just stop short of installing it for a moment.) Running the preinstall program is recommended by McAfee to remove any roadblocks from your previous av products downloads in the past. Fortunately it does not affect Malwarebytes or SuperAntiSpyware programs, which are good to have and keep.2. McAfee also offers users another preinstall program called MCPR " McAfee Consumer Products Removal" tool , found in the same search as above for the Pre Installation program that you already ran. The MCRP is a short program that removes legacy McAfee stuff you may have on your computer that could hinder the download of AV2016. It runs very quickly.3. With steps 1 and 2 done, you're ready to go for the gusto and start your downloaded Mc 2016 AV Plus program. It pretty well holds your hand to accomplish the installation. BUT, you may experience a little hitch after initiating the download which makes the installation "wheel" keep spinning without the progress bar advancing. This occurred with our home laptops due to having another active AV program (Avira Pro), so McAfee needed me to push the cancel button on screen in order to restart the laptop which accomplishes the old program's removal. McAfee tells you that it will automatically restart their installation program after you restart your computer. In our case, after our restart indeed the McAfee program did restart automatically and progressed to the completion of the install. Pretty slick overall. There is no need to pre-remove other AV installed software on your computer unless McAfee identifies it as necessary to do as a preliminary step, you can double ck this for your situation on the same Document ID: TS100119 by McAfee for the above steps.4. After the Mc2016 AV Plus install, all you have to do is forward the original email from McAfee with their program link to any other person's email and the link remains active for the other person you sent it to, pretty easy for the other person to just follow the same steps you did. This is quite the bargain in my opinion. I really applaud McAfee for clear instruction and available explanations and instructions. Happy computing.

So far I am pretty impressed with the protection of this on my computer and smartphone. I have had many other brands that I have not tolerated in the past, some that were downright horrible and McAfee has been pretty consistent in protection. My only complaint, is that just like with any other antivirus software, still too many popups. I wish it wouldn't warn me so often, "this is blocked" "that is blocked" "add on extension warning" blah blah blah. Yeah, it's protection. But what I REALLY want from software, is silent, background protection. I don't want notifications that I am being protected. That's pretty annoying. But hey, otherwise, this fits the bill. the product is excellent. I just wish there had been a direct link to Mcafee in the email from the seller. there are many false mcafee sites on the internet, so be extra careful when trying to get to the site to download your code. I went to a mcafee site and had problems downloading the code--the employee at the site said my computer had issues that kept it from downloading and for only 75 dollars they could clean my computer and get the download to work! yeah...NO. I went back and tried to find the correct website, and my code downloaded in just a couple of minutes. but that was after wasting almost 45 minutes on the first mcafee website. also--this price was incredible! like less than half of what everyone else had it priced at!!

I saw some negative comments here regarding the installation, so I wanted to write that installation was simple and quick! Not a problem in any way. I just purchased this now, as my current virus protection expires tomorrow. This was on sale for $14.99 and can be installed on unlimited devices! How can you go wrong? PC Mag has given it high recommendation, too. I purchased it and went to my Games and Software Library to access it (the code and directions to redeem are right there - clear and easy to follow). Once downloaded, it removed my current virus protection (McAfee Total Protection) and installed this one. It is great so far, and I am not expecting any trouble with it. Will try to update my review after a few weeks. I don't think anyone could wrong with this or have any trouble to install.

After almost a year of it being installed on several PCs in the house I have to say that it seems to have us protected but it's driving me crazy. The interface is all about 'let the app handle it for you' so i can't find what I'm looking for most of the time and then when I do there's no option for me to review whats actually taking place, override, or cancel. It's constantly popping 'updates' onto my screen and prompting me to update apps, such as iTunes/QuickTime, right in the middle of me working or gaming. It's just plain annoying. i must have hit 'update virus definitions' 5 times yesterday alone. Why? My PC is on 24x7x365 but instead of doing scans at night or when no activity it's always interrupting me. Nothing I change has any affect yet we seem to be fully protected as no threats have gotten onto our PCs in a long time so I'd have to say that 10 bucks on black friday was a good deal. And please stop hijacking my browsers too... I don't need your SafeSearch! Arrrggghh!

Piece of garbage. Would not load in a brand new computer. Wasted an hour of my life with tech support to end up being told that they could fix the issue but would charge me to do it. Got another competing product and it loaded without a problem.

The only issue I have is with the installation procedures. NOWHERE does it state that you need to uninstall the previous version before installing this one. You would think that in 2016 they could make the installation easier, considering that it's the same software.

It was not compatible with my operating system & I couldn't return it. Response from the vendor was a short and not so sweet "software can never be returned" so I'm stuck with it....

It was a scam , you enter the down load . its doesn't take , a support tech opens up a chat window rite away from there the tell you that your computer is corruput or old and needs help for the download to take , from there they up sell till it comes to 160 dollars to refresh your computer . returned the product that day
