Great cocealable defensive weapon!
This is a great self defense device. It is small, easily concealed, and appears innocuous until you activate it. Like the description says, most attackers only need to hear and see it in action, and they'll run away. I have it as one of my four levels of self protection that I have on me at all times. I carry pepper spray, this pain pen, a knife, and a nine millimeter on me. I refuse to be a victim, or let anyone around me be one. Although I have never had to use it intentionally, I have accidentally caused it to zap myself. Long story short, it zapped me for about a quarter of a second and it hurt like a MFer! It even left a mark for several days. I can only imagine the damage it would inflict on an attacker. My plan is to zap anyone who accosts me right in their eye sockets for as long as I can after I pepper spraythem, and then when they are incapacitated I will jam it down their throat and zap them for as long as I can then, as well. FAFO! Great defensive weapon, inexpensive and very effective. Please get one for anyone you care about in your life.

Great little buddy to have with me
Arrived quickly and in great shape. I charged it up and followed the directions to test it. It definitely discharged. I will not be testing it on an actual living person but I am making myself familiar with it day to day so if I should need it It won't be the first time in my hands. The instructions were clear, the item has some great solidness to it, good quality in a small size. This just feels to me like with my small hands it will be easier to use and keep with me in a low key way than a larger stun gun. Hope I never need it, feel far more comfortable though knowing it's there.

More like a painful sting
I swear some reviews are completely fabricated. I’ll be honest here in case it helps that one person stay safe.HOW TO USE:2 buttons.A - button powers on the pen and prepares it for use as a flash light or taser. A single short press powers it on, as indicated by a blue light. Each subsequent press cycles it through the flashlight mode which include;- front facing flashlight (not so bright)- side, facing flashlight (very bright)- side, facing flashlight with strobe (very bright)B - button is strictly for taser. You press and hold it only when the pen is powered on (blue light). The taser emits a popping sound when activated. Also has a USB-C charge port and belt clip.HOW IT FEELS:The shock this produces is more like a sting localized to the area of impact. It even leaves a small welt, like a mosquito bite that keeps burning even later. Does it hurt a a lot? Yes!Can it disorientate you? Maybe. It would take a long press (3-5s) to inflict enough pain to cause pain related disorientation.FOR SELF DEFENSE:Only in some cases. For example, this will only go through thin pieces of clothing. It will not work through sweaters or jackets. Use it with caution because once they feel the initial shock, pushing through the subsequent attempts is possible. So get to safety immediately once you create that separation.OTHER USES:Breaking up fights or keeping creeps off you at bars. This pen easily breaks up a “situation”. It’s very non-lethal.

Safety
I recently picked up the Streetwise Pain Pen, and I have to say—it exceeded my expectations. At first glance, it looks like an ordinary pen, which is exactly the point. The discreet design makes it perfect for carrying in a purse, pocket, or clipped to a shirt without drawing any attention. It’s lightweight, compact, and easy to handle. What really impressed me was the power behind the shock. I haven’t had to use it in a real situation (thankfully), but testing it on a non-living surface revealed just how intense the crackle is. The sound alone is enough to make anyone back off—it’s loud and intimidating. I can see it being a strong deterrent even before contact is made. The built-in LED battery indicator lights are a nice touch. They let you know exactly how much charge is left, and it charges easily via USB C —no batteries needed. It’s ready when you are.Pros:• Ultra-discreet design• Surprisingly powerful jolt• Loud, intimidating sound• Rechargeable with clear battery indicators• Feels solid and durable*. Has built in flashlightsCons:• Might be too small for large handsBottom Line:The Streetwise Pain Pen is a fantastic self-defense tool for those who value subtlety and effectiveness. Whether you’re walking to your car at night or just want some peace of mind, this is a smart and stylish way to protect yourself.

As described, premium feel
Premium look and feel, easy to handle and understand, and the stun gun noise is already scary. The flash light is extremely bright. It does the job as explained on manual.

Powerful Punch in a Portable Pen Flashlight !
Portable and purchased for a female student going to out of state college living off campus in University apartments! With the flashlight , good for walking and locking and unlocking doors . Plus it looks like a flashlight but has a powerful punch !

Useful as a flashlight and makes a loud sound but not a powerful taser.
The flashlight function works. The stunt function makes a loud noise and can sound intimidating. Hopefully the sound is enough to deter someone. The actual stunt is not very powerful. I has my wife hit me in the arm then the leg. It does shock you a little and it hurts/ burns at the site of contact but it doesn't render you incapacitated. To be honest with you, if someone hit me with this in real life, I'd probably be so mad that I'd punch them in the face. Again, good tool to have as a flash or as a deterrent, where you pray to God that the sound it makes is enough to deter the other person. However, if you did have to use it, I don't think it will work as intended. I tased my wife on the leg and she said that it stings and burns but again not enough to deter her from attacking me. In fact, her immediate reaction was to punch me as she complained of the pain it caused.
