GOTHAM STEEL HAMMERED (5.5" Egg Pan)

Very well made, I was not surprised to learn these pans were made in the UK. They are durable, food does not stick, and cleanup is very easy. Brits sure know how to make superior cookware. Wife loves them and I like the hammered cooper look. I would definitely recommend them and order more.

UPDATE: People, I use this little pan nearly every day and it still works like new! The secret is to keep the heat down! I have on occasion turned the heat up a tad too high, and yes, my egg will stick if I do. Just wipe it out with a wet sponge or even a paper towel and use a very tiny bit of margarine the next time you use it -- like the size of a pencil eraser. After that, keep the heat lower and don't use any spray or oil and the egg won't stick! I've been using my little egg pan for months and it looks and works like new. I'm still on the hunt for a larger one that will work as well. I absolutely LOVE this little pan! I bought this one after another single egg pan had become very discolored on the outside. Not such a bad thing, I guess, but why buy a pretty color if it slowly deteriorates to a streaked, ugly mess? I have a whole set of pans that have discolored on the outside. Also, I was moving across country and everything was going into storage for 3 or more months, so I was going with, "if in doubt, throw it out!" Actually, I donated it. When I finally settled into my new house I bought this pan, and after months of daily use the outside looks just like the day I bought it, and nothing sticks on the inside -- unless I accidentally turn the heat up too high, and even then it wipes right out. No sprays, oil, margarine or butter! I liked it so much that when I went to stay with family for a month I ordered another one on day 2. Cooking one egg in a big old skillet was too annoying! The little pan keeps an egg or two contained, rather than letting it spread out all over like they do in a big pan, especially if the pan isn't exactly level on the stove. Pretty much every morning I eat a frozen waffle with one egg on top, and this is perfect to keep the egg no bigger than the waffle. It wipes out with a damp sponge or paper towel. I have a routine -- start an egg in this pan, put a waffle in the toaster, start my single cup of coffee, flip the egg and turn off the heat under it, put the waffle on the plate with syrup, and then place the egg on top -- that's how fast it cooks. I have a gas stove and I turn the heat up to just below "medium". The pan IS dishwasher safe, but putting it in the dishwasher will lighten the lovely copper color of the outside, as I discovered with the first one. Now I'm looking for a larger version of this pan that will fit things like a single grilled sandwich.

This cookware is great, super easy to clean and lasts a long time as long as you don't use metal utensils with it, it scraps the coating off if you do that. Anyways, I usually always use butter spray despite the ad claiming you don't need to, because you do. It will stick without but still be super easy to clean. Don't use a scrub with a bristle side, it'll scrap the coating off as well. A regular soft sponge works best. Last thing that irks me about these products (and really the only issue I have), the sticker on the bottom has some really tough glue to get off. Why on earth would you glue the sticker on? Why do you even need a sticker? Please stop doing this. I needed to use nail salon quality polish remover to fully remove the glue before use. Overall, despite the nonsense with the glue, I still buy these products because I really appreciate how well food cooks in them and they clean up easy and still look great for years!
