Finicky But Works
Yes, this thing works. However, be very patient with the vent disassembly and installation of the new clip. A good disassembly video can be found on YouTube. Review the time lapse assembly video from the manufacturer carefully. The thin metal vertical piece is especially tricky to connect. Not easy, but you can do it.

My vents were completely broken so I had to remove them from the vehicle. This repair requires patience and dexterity. Find someone with small hands and long fingers to help.
