It is made of metal, not cheap plastic. I have used this on cheap kitchen knives and high end hunting knives with excellent results,Just use the angle best suited for your needs.

All the sharpening angles offered has got you covered on different angled knives. Gets the job done quick and real like the clean up stone works well too. I’d recommend this sharpener.

This is surprisingly heavy; but, it doesn't bother me unless I put it in my purse instead of in the pocket of my blue jeans.It is well made & does the job. You just need to figure out which slots you want to use. It isn't the easiest knife sharpened to use; however, it becomes easier the more you use it. I recommend this little sharpener. I keep one in my car, another one in my truck, one in my kitchen "junk" drawer & one in my woodworking shop.

I wanted to wait a little bit and see how this worked over time. I've had it a year this month and use it pretty regularly. First of all, it does work. You won't get a perfect edge, but you'll get a very good one. It's certainly enough for most uses. The ability to grind to any bevel you would commonly need is really nice. I've got a couple of nice knives that I keep at 17°, but the handax gets 30. I've sharpened a lot of knives and it seems to still have enough diamond material to do the trick. I haven't noticed it not sharpening anyway. It's also very well built. It's a solid chunk of metal with nuts holding it together and they have not come loose over a Year's use. It's a little heavier than you would want to carry in a pocket, but it's certainly something I carry in my work bag. It's good enough that I gave three of them to people for Christmas gifts this year and they all like them

LANSKY D-Sharp not only sharpened my multitool's and kitchen cutters, but considering, its compact size ... its portability, and its storage which doesn't consume much space in my hiking essentials and my kitchen drawer ... LANSKY D-Sharp is a great purchase.FACTs: The sharpening quality is surprisingly good. However ... NOTE: Its durability will be seen with time and usage. Nevertheless, for now ... it works well for me and the possibilities of future purchases are extremely high.
