Kaytee Corn on the Cob is a basic, no-frills feed option that works exactly how it’s supposed to: it attracts birds and wildlife with a source of high-energy food that’s easy for them to eat. Whether you’re filling a specialty corn feeder, offering it on a tray, or placing it where birds and small critters can access it easily, this corn gets noticed. The quality of the corn itself is what you’d expect — clean, intact kernels that hold up well in a feeder or on a platform. It doesn’t turn to mush quickly if it gets a bit damp, which helps reduce waste. Most birds that enjoy corn — like jays, doves, sparrows, and even squirrels — take to it readily, and you’ll often see activity pick up shortly after it’s put out. This isn’t a seed blend designed for finicky or specialty species, so don’t expect hummingbirds or tiny insect-eaters to show up just because you have corn out. But for what it is, it does the job. For folks who want to attract larger songbirds or a mix of backyard wildlife on a budget, this is a good tool in your feeding setup. The 6.5-pound bag is a nice size for regular use and doesn’t go bad sitting in a garage or storage bin until you’re ready to refill feeders. It’s easy to pour and handle without dust or mess, which makes it more pleasant to work with than some seed mixes that shed chaff everywhere. Overall, Kaytee Corn on the Cob is straightforward, reliable feed that brings bird activity when used appropriately. It’s not fancy, but it’s effective for its purpose — and an easy recommendation if you want a basic, energy-rich option to supplement your backyard bird feeding. Five stars for quality, simplicity, and performance.

This corn has been a huge hit with the squirrels in my backyard, so much so that they actually fight over it. Sharing wasn’t part of the plan apparently, but that’s not the product’s fault. As far as quality goes, it exceeded my expectations. Each cob barely lasts 24 hours before every single kernel is completely gone. The bag comes with plenty of corn cobs, and after using it for about three weeks, the squirrels still haven’t lost interest. One thing to note is that the cobs are fairly large. If you’re using a squirrel table, they may be a bit tall. I ended up cutting them in half with a knife/cleaver, which was easy to do and also helped stretch the bag by effectively doubling the number of cobs. Overall, this is a solid 5 out of 5 stars for both function and appearance. The corn looks natural in the backyard, pairs well with a squirrel table, and doesn’t look distracting at all. Highly recommend if you’re feeding backyard squirrels. 🐿️🌽
