Dark Wolf Review
The twenty-fifth book in the Dark series is an action packed and intriguing read.Human and vulnerable, Skylar Daratrazanoff, has always recognized the miracle that is the ancient hunter, Dimitri Tirunul, a carparthian who has been marked for death by the Lycans. As his destined lifemate, Skylar has the ability to find where the Lycans have imprisoned him and of course they would never suspect a young teenage girl to attempt to rescue the ancient guardian. This fast plot keeps the readers on the edge of their seat with lots of action and suspense. The author brings the story to life with vivid descriptions that make the reader feel as if they are part of the story and the wonderful and compelling characters are easily related to and grab the reader’s attention. The attraction between Skylar and Dimitri is red hot and sizzling and the sex scenes are scorching hot, but the relationship between them is one made of legends in this world. Dimitri has lived with the darkness for centuries waiting for the chance to claim his lifemate, but he waited and was very patient with the young Skylar. He loved and protected her from a distance to give her the time she needed to be able to accept him as her mate. Skylar gives new meaning to the words overcoming adversity she beat all the odds and survived a horrific past to become a strong and worthy mate for such a warrior. The author created this mesmerizing world of vampires that has evolved to be so much more, it is believable and just keeps getting more and more intriguing. I love all the wonderful characters and stories in the series so far and I love how all the characters remain a part of every story and conflict. The author manages to impart information in the stories that give the reader’s hints of what has been happening to each character personally so that they can stay up to date. Skylar and Dimitri’s story is one I have been waiting impatiently to read and I have to say that it is one of my favorites of the series. As always I will wait impatiently for the next one.

Totally Loved It!
Finally, Skyler and Dimitri's story! Fans have only been waiting for it for a decade! I thought it was wonderfully written. The action was nonstop from page 1, and never let up. I know some readers will think that there should have been more focus on the romance between the H/H, but you have to remember that their relationship has been building and referenced in the past 7 or more books. How much build up does a person need? Their relationship is pretty much already established before this book even begins. Not only that, but there's a war taking place and there's a lot that needed to happen with it, and explained about how it came to be. Hints to be dropped about where it's going. This is a story with a PLOT, not a straight up fluff romance. Also, this is a three part story. You can't forget that, and you can't read it without reading the other two novels or, yes, you will have an incomplete story. New readers to the series should not even consider starting with this book. You would be confused and in over your head. As a huge fan of the series, I recommend starting with book one. But if you aren't ready to commit to a series with 20+ books in it so far, then at least start with the previous book, Dark Lycan, and be sure to pre-order the conclusion to the trilogy, Dark Blood. Otherwise, it will be like starting a book a third of the way through, and then not finishing it. You can't expect a fulfilling story if you don't read the whole thing. I think that should clear up some of the negative reviews-you have to read all three parts, you have to realize that Skyler and Dimitri already have an established relationship from previous books that is just reaching it's climax in this one, and you need to know that this book has an actual plot that demanded the author's attention and therefore this novel isn't one steamy scene after the other. It's a complex story line, and a damn good one at that.So...why didn't I give it five stars when I so obviously loved it? I want to know what's going on with Gary! In the previous book, he was injured to the point of death and we didn't know if he was going to survive or not, and the last time he was mentioned Gregori had told him that he would convert Gary to keep him from dying IF HE HAD TO. So did he end up having to or not? I was frustrated that Dark Lycan ended without giving us an answer, and now there wasn't one single mention of his fate in Dark Wolf. Gary has been an integral part of the series since the 4th book and yet we're expected to not care about what happened to him? And this is a huge development! The woman Gary is in love with had to be converted to Carpathian about 8 books ago and readers have been wondering if he would ever be changed so they would be able to be together. Now we get this close to getting an answer and Feehan just leaves us hanging. I couldn't be more disappointed in her. It's like having the first 6 numbers match in the lottery and then the 7th number never being announced as if we wouldn't care if we had won or not. Fans of the series realize what an important issue this was and I'm, quite frankly, appalled that it was just dropped and forgotten about. If what did get written hadn't been so completely awesome, I would be tempted to rate this a 1 star for that alone. But fortunately, the story that we did get was above and beyond awesome. I'm just disappointed (severely) that Gary's fate was completely ignored as if irrelevant. So, absolutely amazing book that kept me on the edge of my seat with nonstop action and mystery, as well as steamy romance that was a satisfying climax in a relationship that readers have waited ages to read more about. I am absolutely loving all the possibilities that are opening up for future stories and excited to read the conclusion of the trilogy, Dark Blood (don't forget to preorder it).Dark Wolf, and the trilogy as a whole, is definitely one of the best stories of the series so far, and I highly recommend it. Just don't get me started on Gary. :-)
