All-Natural Perfume Making: Fragrances to Lift Your Mind, Body, and Spirit

I adore this book. I spent a lot of time reading websites, blogs, etc and experimenting with perfume making and was really frustrated by the results. I bought this along with a couple other books on the topic thinking that books would have more reliable info - and I was right when it comes to this one. The author includes detailed info about tools needed, different scent combos & how to put them together, and a bunch of random really interesting facts. It’s also an extremely easy read - no attempt to be pompous and scientific, which is perfect for a hobbyist.There is only one thing I thought should have been included: (if the author writes a book including this or on the topic I will buy it, and in fact would collect any of her books if they look like this. It is simply a beautiful item): I think the process of maceration could be more comprehensively covered. The instructions cover it when discussing extract and essential oils, but seem to skip over it when combining the oils with the carrier. Honestly not a big deal, but if you want a stronger, smoother scent it could be helpful to know.Anyway, I bought this a while ago and remembered to review it today after testing out my first perfumes that actually smelled good - thanks to the instructions and recommendations in the book!

My books arrived yesterday and I was blown away with the quality and value. Even if you don't want to make perfume, Kristen has provided so much information about herbs and flowers that are helpful to cooking, healing, etc. that it is worth having. I love the little slices of information that she has tucked into every section. I bought two books for my granddaughters, one for my sister and one for myself. I can't use any bought fragrances but see how I can make some things myself that I will be able to use as body oils, etc. I am thrilled with this wonderful source of information. Having followed Kristen in her blogs I knew she was very descriptive in her information and I love the simple way she lays things out. A textbook of information in a very readable format. I highly recommend it.

Good information and easy to read. Great basic information for beginners. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to start using natural blends and stear clear of the chemicals we are placing on our bodies.

This is more than I expected and an easy to read and understand book. Well laid out with beautiful photography. Plenty of recipes and leads you to creating your own special products. This is a great how to book for those looking to get started in this field.

I like that it engages my 7 year old. He asked me to buy him a book about perfume making and I’m glad I picked this one.

Arrived in great condition and is very informative love it

The book is OK. It seems like a rehash of other books. I did not find anything new in it. Pictures are really nice.

I loved the info on blending- low, middle and high notes of essential oils
