The Geology Knowledge is Phenomenal
These natural disasters affect all of us!!!! My heart was breaking at the catastrophes our fellow humans struggled with, including us in NJ during the Storm of the Century. I should have gone into Geology because it fascinates me and I know a lot and still learning. NatGeo has always kept the world informed about everything and this 4 CD set will open your eyes even wider about the year 2000/2004 events. NatGeo - ALWAYS AWESOME. It would be a miracle if we could side track, slow down, know ahead of time, when the tectonic plates were going to shift forcefully!

Collection of stories around some of these types of disasters
Not much about the science behind the nature events. More of a collection of mini documentation of past disasters. Some great and interesting stories. Warning- has a few disturbing images.

Excellent and very disturbing.
Got very engrossed in this series and as above disturbing showing how weather can run riot and the destruction. Not to mention the stupidity of humans who as the narrator said once to paraphrase "there are red zone areas which are highly inadvisable to live in" but with population growth, etc people aren't avoiding these areas but moving into them, and the cavalier attitude of those living right near Vesuvius or the idiot building his house right near areas with predicted avalanches.Gives people a wake up call - or should.

Its definitely dated. But was a bit boring for the subject matter.

Worth the earth science information for an adult ed class.
SO far I have watched 4 of the videos total with two different classes. They seemed to get involved in every one of the videos whichis rare. Though they hated the essay assigned to them almost all of them wrote informative responses indicating they learned about tornadoes, tsunamis, avalnches, and the New Orleans travesty caused by Hurricane Katrina.

Excellent DVD on disasters --
Was very interesting, and sad at the same time. If you like watching the facts and pictures of disasters, you won't be disappointed in this one.
