Parker… a pen for the ages
Parker ballpoint pens have been around for a looong time. I fell in love with them early on while still in high school, mostly because they were reasonably priced & (perhaps most importantly) their ink cartridges lasted a long time & the ink in them was of good quality…yes, as their ads used to say, the ink really would write over oily stains on the paper (this was a revolutionary claim then & this feature is still operable today). Fast forward about 50 years, & all attributes are pretty much as they were when I was in high school. The difference now is that I sort of informally collect them — many interesting pen colors & configurations. In all that time, I’ve never encountered a “lemon” regardless of what style pen I used — as long as it was a Parker, I knew it would be reliable. Throw-away pens like the Bic brand have their place I guess (and I admit I use them on occasion), but they just add more plastic to the landfills .

A very nice pen
I like this pen. The color helps it stand out, yet it is unpretentious. It writes well. It is lightweight. I just hope I don’t lose it.
