Mazda Roof Rack Side Rails for 2017-2025 (0000-8L-R09)

These are tricky to install, but fit perfectly on our 2023 Mazda CX-5. Be sure to put ALL of the screws in very loosely before you tighten any of them down. The alignment has to be perfect, otherwise the screws seem to want to cress-thread very easily. Take your time and tighten them down slowly and evenly, and you will be happy with the results.

I originally bought the aftermarket. The rails are basically the same except the very last step of putting in the top plugs. The top plugs on the aftermarket are junk and zero support when you try to reach them. The Mazda plugs fit good with no problems. And if there was a problem there is a part number at the dealer to order more plugs. The only issue I had is a few of the holes had to be drilled a little bit bigger. No biggie. Spend the extra money if you want something that is nice and will last and buy the factory one.

Does exactly what is supposed to do. Fast shipping, decent price (anyway these are all expensive - if you find one cheap, then it's something wrong with it). You can to it yourself, with youtube and few tools. I did it and I'm all thumbs, so Yay me.

OEM means exact fit, right? Wrong! This isn't an exact fit for a 2023 CX-5. I had to gamble hovering a drill above my car to make the holes align so that I could fit the screws straight downwards. First 3 screws went in fine but the the next 3 screws I had to push or pull to align the holes. The next 6 holes was hell. I tried to screw it in but it just won't so I had to make the holes bigger using a drill, which was dangerous because if you make a mistake you'll end up breaking your window. I had to be extra careful but all in all, I ended up with 3 scratches on top of my car and one 1/8 inch on the side. But, those could be easily fixed. What's not is the frustration of having to deal with a product I paid full price expecting everything to fit right. Do yourself a favor, spend a little bit more and bring your car to the dealership where you bought it from and let them install it themselves. At least if they break something, they'd fix or replace it. Not to mention, their work has warranty. Buying car parts from Amazon is risky since you don't know if it's original or not or if it is, that it isn't a factory reject which what I believe I got.

These were well packed and all the parts were in the box!

Took me 2 hours to do a 45 minute job because the hole placement for the screws were awful. Had to use a drillbit to make the holes bigger to actually fit the screw in. Awful design but seems sturdy.
