Living proof Amp Texture Volumizer, Citrus, 2 Oz

This is crazy stuff. And by crazy, I mean crazy in the best way possible. This product will add floof to your hair without making it feel sticky or gummy – as long as you follow their directions. When they tell you to use a “little dab” – then do just that. If you think you’re using a dab, then use a little LESS. That’s one of the crazy things about this stuff. You only need a tiny bit. The instructions to tell you to activate the product by rubbing your hands together – so, rub them until it’s hard to rub them together. Although your hands will feel almost dry, that’s the point you want it to be. Just start mussing up your hair. Throw some hair spray on and be done. Some how, some way, it starts to work. And the really funky thing is, it just keeps working. Your hair will just keep looking better as the day goes on. Glad I came across this stuff while browsing Amazon… it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite products.

I have only had this product for a week. I am very pleased with it so far. My hair is quite short (2-2 1/2 inches on top) and I am hoping that it will continue to work until my next haircut as my hair grows out and gets heavier. My hair is flat, ultra-straight, I have cowlicks, it's fine and annoying! I just want something that isn't sticky but will keep my hair from lying flat on my head and looking so limp. The day I received this I had other product in my hair and I added a dab of this which did not work out well at all. So the next day I followed directions and dried my hair before using it. It was disappointing because after drying there seems to be nothing you can do to correct the flat spots and cowlicks. Over the rest of the week I have experimented with applying some product on my wet hair, pretty much throughout, then drying my hair with my head upside down. Success! Sometimes I add a bit more in spots if I think it needs it after drying. There is no huge difference, but my hair now looks alive and normal and is still soft and shiny and white (grey)! I am beyond thrilled! I can touch my hair and not end up with a mess, in fact no one would ever know there is product in my hair by looking at it or touching it. There is basically no scent either. I think this product is expensive and wish it was cheaper but I will keep buying it because of the magic it has wrought. As to applying it, it is a bit hard to judge how much to use. I just get a dab on one finger, then rub it on just my fingers until it isn't white and then start at the roots (while my hair is wet but not on my scalp) and pull through my hair all over the top and crown (pulling away from my head) and into my bangs which is where I need it. I do this maybe 3 times to get it everywhere. Then I dry my hair with my head upside down just using my fingers to fluff and move the hair). Then just use a brush or my fingers to make sure it all falls into place. If I still have a flattish spot I add a bit more product to that area. I live in south Florida, the humidity is nearly always horrendous, but it doesn't faze it. I'm a fan!

I have fine, wavy hair (about a 2C in curly hair classifications), and this works great to keep my waves looking good. I use it after my hair is dry, and put a tiny drop in my hands, rub them together, flip my hair upside down, and use this underneath to create volume. When I flip back up, I use a bit more to piece out my ends. You're supposed to not re-apply this on the second day, but I've had a hard time getting it to re-activate on its own, if that makes sense. It helps it I dampen my hands and then re-fluff my hair. I can tell that the product is still in there, but I don't quite get the volume on day 2 that I get on day 1. Overall, though, I really like this! It's the first Living Proof product I've tried, and I'll definitely be trying more.

This volumizer is amazing stuff. It definitely gives my hair lift, volume, and shine. I have gotten a lot of compliments from strangers while walking out in public at different outdoor outlet malls throughout California. It kind of makes me feel like a star on the a red carpet by getting stopped about my hair lol. Mainly because of the shine this product gives my hair when the sun hits it. I have light brunette colored hair and this really brings out the golden tones, so I'm told. It also has a fragrant scent to it. I kind of think it smells like pumpkin seeds after you have carved them out of a pumpkin and they are sitting in a bowl all slimy. But again I've gotten compliments on the fragrance as well. I have highly recommended it to the people who approached me about my hair. Whether you are a man or a woman, this product will add great volume to your hair if you need some and great shine. The awesome thing about it as well, is that you only need about a quarter sized amount in your palm.

I love Living Proof. A friend of mine worked for the lab for a few years and I loved getting free samples or discounts from her! The volumizing mousse works good not great, but this paste works less than good. The only reason for the 3rd star is that it doesn't make my hair greasy looking. But this doesn't volumize your hair. at all. If you run your fingers under your hair to your scalp and "fluff" with your fingers through out the day you'll get a minute of "puff" but that's it! I want to love all Living Proof products, but turns out only some of them are worth it. The straightening spray and the shampoos are great!

I have been using this product for about a year and I LOVE it! I use a very small amount after washing and styling my hair. The fullness shown in this photo happened only after I applied the product, and I didn't lose any shine. If you use too much, it will definitely weigh your hair down and make it sticky. I use only about a dime-sized amount and rub it between my fingers until the white disappears, then I carefully and gently run my fingers through the areas of my hair where I want lift and volume, and then brush and fluff my hair into place. Easy peasy!

I learned about this product while watching a video on You Tube about styling hair. The lady used this product after drying her hair and she raved about it so I purchased it. I have curly, fine hair but am currently wearing it in a straight style. She mentioned that she used it when styling her hair both curly & straight. She did have tons of volume but she also had a lot thicker hair than I have. When I received the product, it was boxed nicely and had a package insert. THE INSERT WAS DIRECTIONS FOR USING THE PRODUCT AND IT WAS ACTUALLY IN TYPE LARGE ENOUGH TO READ! NOW, THIS MIGHT NOT SEEM LIKE A BIG DEAL TO SOME PEOPLE BUT I AM A DIRECTION FOLLOWER SO IT IS A VERY BIG DEAL TO ME. I applied it as directed and my hair looks great! I love this product & will be trying it on my curly hair also.

So far I've only been using this for a few days, but I really like it. My hair doesn't feel greasy and weighed down like some other reviewers had mentioned. I only use a little bit until the texture is what I want and my hair is responsive. I'm not sure about the video and hair standing up with this, but it gives my hair texture, makes it easy to style, and allows me to somewhat "re-do" my hair later in the day if it seems to be a bit flat. I've waited the next day too and didn't wash my hair just to see, and yup...I just played with the hair a bit and my hair looked fresh and like I had just styled it. Keep in mind, though, I don't have some cutting edge haircut. I have a bob, so I don't do any spikes or crazy standing hair. I'm not sure if this would work for that, but with more product than I use, It probably would.
