We've been using RC33 for years & want to try other types. Do your cats enjoy this hairball control food/eat it willingly/gladly come back for more?

I have two adult cats that aren't terribly fussy, but if they don't like a new cat food, they WILL walk away from it. I have been trying to address urinary care AND HAIRBALL ( both indoor male, neutered ) I learned early on that you cannot just make a 100% switch without expecting some attitude, and sometimes an upset stomach. Start SLOW... and introduce 25% new food for 4 days, then make it 50%, 75% etc. I sometimes throw a few small cat treats into their food bowls in the morning, and that seems to help with them accepting a new food, but be careful you aren't throwing in calories that are going to put on weight. Lastly, my Vet had been against dry food ( I have not had a chance to ask about Royal Canin ) and she always advised that if should try to get both LARGE cats onto a wet PATE type food ( NO GRAVEY !! ) as she thought wet food was better than dry food for them ? At this point, both cats seem to like this hairball Royal Canin DRY formula, and they get ONE bowl at the start of each day. I am using portion control, and this is the first time in many many months that I wake in the morning to find 2 empty bowls !! I also am not hearing the wretching taking place. I don't mind this food being a bit more expensive than the bargain brands out there, as long as they EAT IT and it seems to be HELPING WITH HAIRBALLS. This small investment will probably be cheaper than a VET HOSPITAL STAY !! ONE MORE THING ... I prefer buying ONE smaller size bag at a time than buying ONE LARGE BAG, thinking I am going to be saving time and money. WHY ? I would rather have ONE SMALL, SEALED, UNOPENED BAG arrive when I need it, as I think I have a better chance of buying a fresh bag, and NOT having a LARGE BAG of pet food GO STALE. Sure, the larger bag might be cheaper over time, but I would rather try to keep their food fresher by buying the smaller bags more frequently. I keep their cat food inside a small, sealed THERMOS COOLER, plus the sealed bag, so I am trying my darnest to keep it tasting fresh and BEING fresh !

My cat eats this as well as Royal Canin Intense Beauty canned food and theres a redish brown color in the regurgitated mess around the fur ball. The red will not come out of the carpet. I contacted Royal Canin and asked them if they put red dye in the food, they said no. If not, then what product is in the food that…

i believe the red color comes from the beet pulp in the ingredients. I only think this because we had to feed beet pulp to our older horse and we soaked it in water overnight. The liquid always turned reddish in color.
