Amco 3-in-1 Compact Egg Slicer

I had occasion to use the egg slicer at someone elses home, I was so impressed I purchased the egg slicer for myself. I love it. I especially liked the versitility. It's great quality is it's #1 feature. This egg slicer will be around for many, many years.

I use this slicer to chop eggs for egg salad. I stand the egg up for the first pass. I put the large end down in the cradle and cut the egg vertically. Then, turn the slicer upside down (without opening it) and put the sliced egg in my palm. After that I open the slicer, lay the sliced egg in the cradle sideways and make the second pass. This works quite well for me. See my series of four photos illustrating this procedure.The main complaint about this slicer in other reviews is the cutting wires break. After reading this complaint I press them through the egg slowly. I've done a couple of dozen eggs this way and so wires have broken yet. Maybe next time they'll break, but so far I really like it. Chopping eggs for egg salad this way is faster, easier and a lot less messy than doing it manually with a knife. Oh yes, I rinse all the egg off before putting it in the dishwasher.P.S. The above assumes the egg is intact. If the egg breaks while peeling, it will make a mess in this thing, so chop it the old fashioned way, with a knife.

As advertised. I saw it at my sister in law's and had to get one for myself. It works as desired.

This egg cutter would be great except the wire is not tight! I have had several of these type of egg cutters and all the others the wires was very tight. This one is defective and if it had been in a store so I could see it I would never have bought it.

Ours lasted years, maybe 6 or 7. I am just now looking for replacement wires.

We've had this since July and used it very infrequently on eggs. The wire cutters broke today when my wife tried to slice mushrooms. We are very disappointed.

I was disappointed that the body of it was made of plastic, instead of stainless steel, like the one I bought first. But, the wires are the same, so I'm sure it will be fine.

My wife would prefer that this would disassemble more for cleaning. It sometimes comes out of the dishwasher with egg on it if it isn't thoroughly cleaned. Other than that, it works as advertised and slices eggs and strawberries well.
