MPC Space:1999 Eagle Transporter 1:72 Scale (14" Long) Space Ship Replica Model Kit (MPC913)

I enjoyed building this model. The kit had excellent quality plastic, was well cast, and the designer did a great job of placing the parts on the stringers. It is possible to assemble some of the parts incorrectly, so pay close attention to the instructions. In particular, make sure that part #11 is oriented so that the circular mold on it is near the door (part #12). The finished product looks great!

The best 1/48 Scale, Space 1999 Eagle Transporter model kit available today. Very highly detailed parts, and easy assembly are its strong points.

Neat little model. Quality plastic. I didn’t break any pieces cutting them from the main frame. Definitely recommend.

MPC has done a fantastic job taking over these models and making them truly detailed in their molding. Great model to assemble, Enough options for that personal touch and truly a great finished product. Yes the box gives a size BUT no you cannot imagine the actual size as a result and will surely become a talking point when you display it. Shipping was faster than estimated and boxed in a way to totally protect the contents. So full marks for the product and seller as far as I am concerned and I rarely give 5 stars.

If you loved Space 1999 when it came out in the 1970’s - this is the kit for you. American kit companies & Sci-Fi licensed kits are usually a recipe for a fiery crash and burn (like most Eagles in the show), but MPC did a very decent job on this kit’s release - and that alone gives it a 4 star miracle. Hey, don’t knock it, I gave a decent Tamiya kit 4 stars, so MPC is punching above its weight class. The Good - Seems accurate to the model in the show. Build is straight forward - but be careful with the piping in the engine assembly. Minimal flash. The Okay - There’s a lot of mould lines that will need to be cleaned out - but nothing some time and patience can’t overcome The Ugly - Paint and decal schemes are on the box - and appear to be very minimal at best. There is no real “standard” scheme for the Eagles (other than the color white), but there are characteristic marks that vary - the search engine is your friend. The only other complaint is the soft plastic - which makes cutting feel imprecise, and sanding a bit harder to gauge. Overall, this is a very good kit - and thank Goodness MPC did it justice. Getting the metallic bell thrusters is not worth it - just get the Extreme AK Metalics (like polished Aluminum) instead and save yourself some $$. Take your time to clean it up, assemble and paint it and you will love it. Highly Recommended.

A nicely detailed kit with minimal flash or cleanup needed -- a little bit of trimming and sanding, but not much. A nice decal set also lets you customize, with three different cockpit window decal options (straight black, space-suited pilots, or Koenig and Carter), and three variants of the Alpha logo. The 14" length preserves nice detail while still being small enough to fit on a small display shelf. The one drawback was that the ball and socket pivot mount for the stand wasn't balanced on mine, but I'm happy displaying it in a landed configuration instead.

This is an amazing, perfectly engineered 1/72 kit of the Eagle Transporter from Space: 1999. I've built a lot of models in my lifetime and have to say that this is the most outstandingly designed and engineered kits I have ever built. While there are a many parts that go into this kit, the fit is superb and precise, instructions clear making it relatively easy to get professional results. All you will need are the right tools, solvent based cement (tamiya thin or Weldon-3 liquid), paint and patience and you will have a beautiful replica of this classic ship.

It's a freaking Eagle!!! Seriously, a Liberator kit, and I will be getting excessively excited. ( I watched Space 1999 when it first came out, i do not want to think about that being fifty years ago.)

Bel modellino, facile da costruire. Una delle mie serie preferite, e L'Aquila mi ha sempre fatto impazzire. È di plastica, ma di buona qualità. Costruita e' splendida

es un gran modelo fiel a la serie, aunque no te vayas a equivocar no trae las toberas en aluminio, éstras se venden por separado aunque por la ilustración en la caja pareciera que el kit de armar las incluye

Das Modell war sehr gut verpackt und es lag auch ein kleiner Katalog mit dabei, was mich sehr gefreut hat. Zu dem Modell, es ist ein echt tolles Modell, sehr detailliert und auch im Maßstab passend. Die einzigsten Dinge die mich bei dem Modell stören sind die Decals, bzw deren Anbringung, das könnte man auch mal mit in den Bauplan aufnehmen und die Altersgruppe von 10 Jahren ist Aufgrund der Lackierung eher etwas für Jugendliche ab 14 Jahren.
