Great low impact exercise for cancer patients.
So unlike almost everyone else in these reviews, I did not buy this for use under my desk. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 29 this past July, and as such, had to undergo chemo and more recently, surgery (but chemo worked! So it was worth all the misery). I unfortunately gained 15 lbs with chemo (steroids and chemotherapy-induced menopause somehow outweigh the nausea, although I am eternally grateful for Zofran), and it also made me anemic, so the fatigue was a lingering side effect. Based on the recommendation of literally every health professional at my cancer center, exercise can actually counteract the fatigue and make me feel better about my recent weight gain. I knew after surgery I would be barred from exercise for awhile, but walking is pretty much always acceptable, and I knew the Cubii would be pretty low impact/not require arm movement. I use it while watching tv and sitting on an exercise ball (in a base, because I didn’t survive cancer and cancer treatment just to roll away and break a leg), and it syncs to my Fitbit so I actually get steps counted (versus my arm exercises that trick my Fitbit into thinking I’m active). I love it. I actually wish I’d gotten it earlier in treatment. So while I’m sure it’s a great at-work device, it’s also great for cancer patients - it’s made me feel more like a productive person if I can hit my basic goals (and yes, it does somewhat help with the fatigue).

love it, almost silent, super heavy ... it's more heavy than you think
Update ... I ended up giving it to a family member who needed it. The weight is really a downside. They market it as portable, but it really isn't that portable. It's perfect if you are going to leave it in one place and never move it. Of course, now I have a knee injury and need something like this but I am going to purchase a lighter brand ... I feel like 23 pounds (the one I am looking at) is a huge difference compared to over 27#.This seems to be a very well built machine and is almost completely silent when in use. I wish it was easier to adjust the position of the device and the chair more easily when the wheel locks are in place. It takes a while for me to get the angle on the device, the angle on the chair, and the distance of the chair the way I want it. I sit turned to the left monitor (I have two), so everything needs to be on an angle so my legs are still straight when I use the Cubii. I realize if I switched to a chair without roller wheels it would be easier, but I'm not giving up my super supportive chair. With how heavy it is anyway, I'm surprised they didn't just put a charger in there so you could pedal and charge the device as an alternative to having it plugged in all of the time.Pros:-Super easy to put together.-Very quiet, almost silent.-the App works fine for me but I wish it included a %battery and not just a visual bar (I like numbers) and an indicator that it is charging.-addicting to use, maybe too much without working up to it because I think it uses different muscles than my typical walking or workout videos (I am feeling like I am getting shin splints just from 0.5 miles and today is the first day using it) from using it on and off while surfing the internet for an hour.Cons:-Very heavy, especially when you consider you will be moving it around underneath a desk, which makes it difficult to use proper body mechanics. However, the heaviness does help keep it in place, so not a total con.-I had hoped to move this to other rooms when doing different activities, but I am afraid it's staying right where it is.-The port where the micro USB goes in does not seem to be that well made, compared to the rest of the Cubii. it is somewhat difficult to plug in the micro USB and makes me never want to unplug it again either ... I'll unplug the USB adapter from the power when needed rather than crawl under my desk with a flashlight to unplug and plug it in.

Great help for the disabled
I am rated 100% Disabled due to Permanent Progressive Multiple Sclerosis meaning my life had suddenly become largely sedentary and my “go to” mobility device is a Scooter. With the Cubii Pro Elliptical poised in front of the sliding glass door that looked out on a tree-flanked brook,I have found I can move my scooter along side the Cubii, turn the seat to 90 degrees and get exercise daily. I am delighted with the fact it is Bluetoothed to my phone which tallies my strides, minutes and calories and allows me to keep track of it daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.

Full of design flaws at at a very high price, I would not recommend it...
Likes-The overall "idea" of having a desk elliptical with Bluetooth sync and Fitbit support-The nice box it came in which I'm using a lot more than the machine, but a $350-$400 cardboard box is pretty expensiveDislikes-This is not a cell phone so designing to have to crawl under the desk to unplug when charged is plainly silly and upsetting at this price range. This is included in the instructions. I'm not going to be moving this cement block between my office, home or use it in my truck while driving, you can't. How about just including a simple leave it plugged power supply?- It slides on hardwood, and I also bought the stops which are worthless. Another design flaw.-The Fitbit connection doesn't work, it doesn't count the steps. I have a third party Fitbit scale that works perfectly so it's not the Fitbit app or the connection, it is the Cubii app or the interface to Fitbit.-The stepper rubs against the plastic during use, and it makes a loud noise, another design flaw. Maybe CAD wasn't a forte while designing.-The USB plug location is hard to find, and it's not included in the instructions. At least add a white label to it instead of a black on black hidden plug.-Way too expensive to have so many flaws, it you're going to charge more than double to five times more compared to other similar devices then you should have a quality product, without design flaws. Maybe hire the company that designed the cardboard box to redesign the Cubii.

Excellent piece of equipment to help burn calories almost without noticing.
The media could not be loaded. I got this a week ago and am totally sold on it as a way to increase my activities and burn calories when I wouldn't otherwise be exercising. The Cubii is small, discreet, has a smooth motion and is pretty much silent, which is a huge advantage in an office. You position it under your desk and it's right there at your feet so it almost obliges you to use it when you sit at your desk (unlike home fitness equipment that sits forlornly in a corner waiting to be used). The motion feels very natural, and being elliptical you don't have the problem of knees hitting the underside of your desk.I have used it for four days and was able to pedal for 5-6 hours a day without feeling tired. It has eight resistance settings so you can spend time building up week by week. The video shows the elliptical motion, while the chart image, from my Fitbit (with which it integrates), shows a typical day before Cubii (left) and using Cubii (right). You can see the difference in activity very clearly. This difference means a lot more calorie burn while sitting at my desk. In fact I've tracked calorie burn with an HRM/Fitdigits and it suggests I could be burning 4-5x more calories an hour with this compared with sitting. During the time I have been using it my work has not been disrupted. Phone calls, reading, typing etc all quite normal. The app is good and I'm sure will have new features added. There is a global ranking and challenges to keep you motivated. I found it was quite easy to do 16 Cubii km a day to get into the global top-5 rankings.Overall, I'm very pleased with this as it's significantly increasing my activity time during the day. I mix Cubii with a 5km walk at lunchtime plus walks to and from the office, which is a good balance. It's easy to be active for 5+ hours a day with this and you can't say that about most fitness equipment, so I think it's a very good investment compared to a spinning bike, rower etc that will take up precious space at home. With the Cubii you just put it under your desk, out of everyone's way, and start pedalling.

Play games + This = Legs stay active and circulation keeps moving.
As a gamer, i typically spend hours on my chair in front of a screen and i do like to keep active outdoors (believe me i sometimes see the sun!)I typically used to do 200-300 cals a day, but as i sit less nowadays, i only use it during short gaming bursts of 100 cals for a daily target. So this was a no brainer. I'll start with the pro's then the con's.Pros:Smooth pedaling motion.Quite (depending on speed and setting)App - The app is clever at keeping stats, and syncs with my fitbit watch which is cool (a few hours pedaling = a few thousand steps) - i like you can make your own group and join others so see how much activity they are doing too! (a bit of a competition is always good!)Unit creep - Unless you wedge it, wedging it using something solid against a wall is what i've done.Maintains muscle mass - This is a good pro, it does strengthen and puts more muscle if you really get in to it, but if you use it casually or frantically during a racing game like i do, the blood and circulation doesn't pool around in your foot like sitting normally does, its also a good way to use it for stress relief and before sleeping.Cons:Very heavy - Surprisingly heavy and had a tough time moving this around the house, now it just stays in one place.Unit Creep - Even though the unit is heavy, it still moves forward when using it (well for me as i'm not a small person) - It does unfortunately needs wedging.Size of footprint - I just barely made it, if my feet were any bigger (UK 13) i would struggle to place my footprint on the pedals properly, sometimes i fall off, if i get too excited.Wheels - Still curious about the rubber wheels on the rubber texture mat though, due to the use so far, the rubber wheels gel or melt as i like to call it, and you have to clean this away, and the smell it leaves lingering behind isn't great.Price - Pricey for the cons, but it is heavy duty, i know it will last... (just hope the wheels don't burn up!)Noise - Quiet at first, but starts to get a range of all new weird sounds, like creaks, clicks, snaps but doesn't stop the performance and i just whack on headphones to mute them out.Overall - I love it as it keeps my legs going strong, the creep factor is annoying but you can't fight Newton's 3rd law of motion, keep it wedged, use it often and use the app! Stats are fun!

Excellent for working out, excellent customer services
Excellent for exercising whilst working. I work from home so exercise always seems like a chore - there's always something else i'd rather be doing and I can't stand the gym. When I first saw cubii I was a bit sceptical due to the high price, however after using it for 3 months I think it is worth every penny. At first I took it easy and did a mile or 2 a day - 2 weeks later I am up to 8 miles a day and have also invested in a heart rate monitor to make sure I am burning fat.Plus points:1. I get more exercise (equivalent to something like 88% of the exercise I'd get it I were walking or running - it depends how fast I go)2., The profile of the unit is very low, so there is no chance of me bashing my knees on the desk above2. I can compete against other people in the world - there are leader-boards if you choose to join groups, and it's always a nice feeling to be near the top3. Can view graphs to show my progress over the day/week/month4. Have so far dropped 1.5st since using it!Few negatives, but not bad enough to drop a star:1. The app is only OK, I mean it does the job and I've only ever had trouble connecting once, however I think the app needs a better design and more settings/options to set it up the way I want it.2. The resistance setting needs to be made on the unit itself, then you need to manually change it on the app.Edit: Had a bit of trouble with a noisy unit, their customer service is excellent and they quickly got me a new unit sent out. I am very satisfied with the level of service I received, I just wish all companies were as excellent as Cubii.

I am impressed! 😊. Love it! 💞
I was a bit nervous about the high price tag. But I have been sedentary for too long and needed some way of keeping fit while seated. I have one of those seated bicycle machines but it's just been gathering dust for years.I must say I'm very impressed so far with the Cubii Pro. It's very easy to use and I can definitely feel my thigh muscles working. For me it's definitely easier to use than my bicycle seated machine.I had been mulling for months about whether to buy this Cubii. The high price tag put me off. I just didn't want it to be another machine that was just left gathering dust in the corner. I don't think this will happen somehow because it's so easy and fun to use. I like that it connects to the internet on your phone and you can check your progress and set targets. That in itself is motivation along with the fact that it's very easy to use and I can feel my muscles working almost straight away.I use it while watching TV after dinner and it stops me feeling sleepy. It is heavy but I would like to move it to the office so I can use it while I work. Tempting to buy a second one rather than keep moving between office and living room.I like it and it's a keeper. I'm very pleased with my purchase and very glad I took the leap of faith. If anything changes I'll keep you posted. I have been using it for 3 days straight now since buying and doing 5000 strides per day on level 1 (baby steps)! My thighs are really feeling it!!! Love it! 🥰Update:. Day 8 and I have been using the Cubii Pro every day. I feel stronger and more energised and today I made over 18,200 strides!! So exciting to be able to view your progress on the app and see in real time how others are doing and try to overtake them on the score board!.Sadly yes there have been Bluetooth connection issues with the app. I keep having to uninstall and reinstall it over and over which can be frustrating. It is great when it works but frustrating with the glitches re Bluetooth. I have no regrets about buying it. Just hope they manage to sort out their glitches.Update: 3 weeks in and still loving it and using daily! I have now done 55 miles and over 300,000 strides in 3 weeks!!;🚵🚵🚵

Fantastic, great purchase.
I waited a couple of weeks before submitting this review so I could put Cubii through its paces. Firstly, Cubii has exceeded my expectations, for me, it has been a fantastic purchase. If you prefer to be moving around doing things but are desk bound for long periods of time working then you'll love Cubii. I am so pleased I purchased the Pro version, the App is fantastic; it's wonderful to see how other people around the globe utilise their Cubbi. I also like getting the motivational emails which arrive once a week. Step monitoring device have never appealed to me but it's great that you can track how far you've travelled and the calories burned via the Cubbi mobile app so for me I would say that the additional investment for the Pro version was definitely worth it.It took me 15 minutes to set Cubii up (no help needed) and 24 hours to charge. Installing the app & registering was also easy. The build quality and design are superb. My only criticism would be the manufacturer's claim that Cubii is 'whisper quiet': On speakerphone calls, the person on the line can hear Cubbi in action! Also, on occasion, the right hand rotator develops a slight squeaking noise so I need to look into how I might stop this. All in all I have given 5 stars because this piece of kit was exactly what I was looking for and I really enjoy using it...in fact, it's slightly addictive!
