Cascade Complete All-in-1 Actionpacs Dishwasher Detergent, Fresh Scent, 80 Count

With the removal of phosphates from dishwasher detergents (in order to reduce water pollution), the performance of detergents fell preciptiously. Dishwashers started using much longer cycles, and detergent manufacturers scrambled to reformulate poor-performing products. Dishes that once came out sparkling clean, now emerged with food still attached, dirty spots and stains. I got frustrated with our dishwasher - where it used to clean dishes extremely well, we were having to sometimes run loads of dishes two and three times. We would have to pre-wash and pre-rinse dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. It was ridiculous. I trashed the dishwasher and got a brand new one, one with excellent ratings online and from all the consumer review agencies. To my dismay, the new dishwasher, while having much longer cycles than the old one, did not perform much better! We were still getting dirty dishes out of our dishwasher. Looking online, I found out about the removal of phosphates from all detergents. I started looking for alternatives. An online review site recommended Cascade Complete "Actionpac" pods as performing far better than other products. I checked out our local store - they had Cascade "Actionpac" pods - but not the "Cascade Complete" - instead it was lemon scented or something of that sort. I figured it would work just as well, so I bought them. I was wrong. They worked just as dismally as the other detergents I had tried. I finally found the Cascade Complete Actionpac pods in stock at a local store, and bought them. It was like a miracle! The reviews were right - our dishes came out clean, for the first time in ages! I was a convert...but there was a problem. It seems quite a few people had discovered that Cascade Complete pods were a miracle dishwasher cure, and they became impossible to find in stock anywhere. That's when I turned to my old standby, Amazon. Amazon always has them in stock, and they're actually cheaper than at my grocery store. So I highly recommend these things, they clean dishes better than anything else I've tried, almost as well as old phosphate-laden detergents do. Just make sure it's Cascade COMPLETE - other Cascade types do not work as well.

LOVE these dishwasher pods!! They are so easy and no mess- just pop one in to the dishwasher. They're great for kids because you don't have to worry about too much or too little soap OR a huge mess. The only issue that we've had occasionally with them is the pods melting or sticking together sometimes. But we live in AZ where it gets pretty hot sometimes so I've never taken it as a defect in the product. Cascade is a brand I've always used, my grandma used to use it. It's dependable and works great. I love that they are available in S&S- they're cheaper here than anywhere I've found. Go Savings!

Useful, clean

Let's face it. Daily life just doesn't offer us opportunity to test these things with anything approaching rigor, let alone the scientific method. I think they work just fine. I'm not disappointed. If I'm being honest I probably bought them to enjoy a very short-lived ego boost: "atta boy, you got the GOOD dishwasher detergent -- of course you did, because you like to maintain a certain standard of living which involves using products that are marketed as being one or two teirs above the basic product line. "Well any way, great job, guy"

I was skeptical to try pods...so little in each one how can it clean a full load of dishes very well? Well they work fantastically. Been using them for 3 months now. I don't "pre wash" my dishes before washing. I rinse them off and let the dishwasher to its job. And my dishes are clean...very clean. I live in a hard water area. Over a short time it leaves a white film on my dishes and the only thing that would remove it is Lemi Shine additive. Since using these Tide pods, I haven't had to use the Lemi Shine once. No film, no spots. The metal dog food bowl that my huge lab eats from gets nasty after a few days of wet dog food. I don't even really rinse it now--just put it in and it comes out sparkling. My son eats a lot of peanut butter and is not good with rinsing them off. With regular cascade powder the dried peanut butter knife always had to be washed by hand even after coming out of the dishwasher. Not with these...the knives come clean. And I've only ever used 1 pod for a full load of dishes. I'm certain that the pre-portions are saving me money and I haven't had to use additional additives so it's saving me there as well.

I love, love, love these all-in-one pacs. I never thought I would change over to cascade again as the other stuff always left a after taste on everything that came out of the dishwasher. Well I tried this and it won. No more after taste and dishes that come out sparkling. I like the large pack as I don't have to worry about it on the every so many days or weeks. I have auto delivery with Amazon and it's great. I don't think I could find it much cheaper here after I got done paying for gas driving to and fro to get it. It's just so much easier and the product makes less mess than liquid or the regular powder. Also dissolves better. Great product.
