RoadProRPTT-1 Wooden Tire Thumper, 19-Inches, Assorted Dark or Light Wood

Product was used for checking tires on tractor trailer tires,a total of 18 tires every time I DROP AND HOOK A TRAILER. Tire thumper broke in half today leaving me to have to find other methods for checking tires. I WOULD NOT recommend this product after all.I thought this would stand up to commercial use but i was wrong.

Bought this to replace a solid birch tire thumper I lost. Boy am i disappointed. Its solid pine, very soft. It is corked with a 1/2" wooden dowel of a harder wood, likely red oak, but its only in the top 8"-10". It feels hollow when you first hold it. It also has a very thick handle. I wear size x-large gloves and I can barely get my hand around the grip, those with smaller hands probably wouldn't like this. My last one felt indestructible in my hand, I feel like I can/will break this one.

Gives a good thump to my school bus tires, I can hide it under the seat or hang it up to keep it out of the way. Can also be used as a defense mechanism. My daughter gave me a light tap on my arm and oh boy...

We had a bump in the night a few nights back where some drunk kids were tossing balls against our walls at about 4 in the morning. Before realizing the situation, I ran downstairs, adrenaline pumping, in my pajamas, while armed with my...fire extinguisher. Within about 30 seconds I realized there was nothing to worry about, but I thought that it was time to have a more proper home defense weapon.This tire thumper is just what I was looking for. The solid copper weight at the end of the bat gives the bat more momentum when swinging. The short leather strap fits snugly around the back of your hand (it's not meant to go around your wrist), adding to security in case someone tries to wrestle it from you or you get a bit to enthusiastic when testing tire pressure. It's just the right size to give you adequate reach while one-handed. I'd much rather use this than a standard baseball bat which would be clumsy indoors, especially two-handed.I suggest buying a few of these and keeping them throughout your house or in your car. I also suggest keeping your fire extinguisher right next to your home defense weapon. Fires are much more common and take more lives each year than robberies. But it's important to have both fire and security protection in the house.Let's hope this never has to be used, but like my dad used to say, "hope for the best, plan for the worst".

I love this thing. I use it for two purposes. One I drive semi-trucks, so I use it as a tire thumper, and two I use it for protection. My co-workers always give me a hard time, because it looks like it could do some damage. People never assume that I would drive a semi truck, and while it's nice that people want to pull over and help if they see a woman broke down, or I may need to pull off if I need to fix something sooner than my next exit will be, it can also be a little scary at times because you don't know who you're being approached by. I do wish we had a choice of colors though, because I didn't receive the color I was hoping for, but I can guarantee when it helps me catch a bad tire before going out, or if someone tries to hurt me, I'm pretty certain color won't be a factor at that time.Revised :I still love this tire thumper. The reason I'm revising this is because I noticed where a few people asked if they would get in trouble for having it in their car. I live in Missouri, and I carry this in my backpack because the truck I drive is driven by other people that work in the company too, so I don't want one of them to take it. They all have their eye on it because they like it. Anyway as I said I carry it in my backpack, and I've had police officers see it and they've never given me grief, but maybe it's different state by state.

i like the price but the grain of the wood should run from handle to barrel not crosswise.......first tire check, handle snapped off..........

I was a dummy and ignored the reviews that said this tire thumper broke in two almost immediately. Surely, the company that makes this would correct the problem, right? Wrong! True to form, this thing snapped in two on the second strike of the tire. Didn't even splinter, simply broke in two. Not much more to say, it is a piece of crap.

Great tire thumper.

Not what I expected. Very soft wood and the core is minimal. I purchased two and both broke within a couple of days. The core is only 5-6" long from the tip towards the handle which I believe caused a weak point in the thumper. I would not recommend buying this product if you intend to use it for any practical purpose.

We use it to play ball. It is a good weight and very nice looking. It is half the price of a good quality baseball bat with the same quality (only shorter, so what if its shorter, we are not playing a tournament, only playing at home). Really nice for a bat. Shipping was fast. It arrived with scratches, but we were eager to play hence didn't return, since it will get new ones while playing.

I purchased this because of the stamp indicating "Tire Thumper" but it will not be used for the intended purpose. I will keep it with me while walking the dog, traveling in the car for personal protection. And if its against the law in Canada - I'll deal with that issues when it happens, if it ever does. I would feel safer in jail compared to walk the streets alone lately. I do not believe in Guns but you will understand what a"Tire Thumper" can do other than to check tires, if I get threatened. lolHighly recommended - good gift idea when yuo think they have everything.
