Using these Japanese-made Engineer PZ-58 "Neji-Saurus" screw extraction pliers on different cammed out/corroded/deformed screw head profiles over the last year, I can report good success. They are a genuine problem solver and a great addition to my toolbox. The pliers are spring loaded and the action is smooth. The machining and finish are excellent. The jaw depth, curved tip and horizonal & vertical serrations are well suited to securely grip small-to-medium sized fastener heads without slipping. You can approach the fastener head both straight on and from the side (if there is room). I do not use the wire cutter feature, so I cannot comment on it. Cammed out truss & pan head Torx & Phillips screws give me the most trouble; regular pliers, needle nose pliers, vice grips, etc., will not do the job. I’ve used these extractors to bite into screws made of medium carbon steel, stainless steel, brass and aluminum. I have not/will not use them on any fastener I suspect is made of Rockwell C 60 high carbon steel, for fear of ruining the jaws/serrations. Because they are spring loaded, you will need to buy the cover (...with its dinosaur face) to keep the jaws together when the pliers are in storage. It would be nice if the manufacturer produced a vice grip version of this plier. Happy customer here. Hope this helps...

I received this ENGINEER PZ-58 today, 01/14/2026, opened the packet and went outside to my SUV. I'm 71 yrs young and female and within five minutes I had removed a stripped screw from the door ajar switch assembly that I had tried to remove for the last six years using different techniques that was not successful, and replaced it with a new door switch assembly cover and a new screw. The stripped screw was easy to remove and the pliers design and size fit my hand with no problem at all. This is one of the best things since sliced bread. I definitely recommend these pliers. I never knew these types of pliers existed until I saw someone using a pair on a YouTube video. Thank you Japan for making a tool that is useful and inexpensive, that didn't break in the process of using it. I also ordered the ENGINEER PZ-57 for smaller screw remover like in electronics. I have't used that one yet. I've not decided whether I'm going to keep it.

Hey tool fans! Are you looking for a simple, no-nonsense means to remove frozen/stubborn screws from computers, cars, motorcycles, machinery, appliances, or anything fastened with screws? Give the ENGINEER PZ-58 screw removing pliers a shot! You will NOT be disappointed. Curious? Read on, friends... Stuck, rusted, cross-threaded, or just plain stubborn screws are no longer something to dread. Use these pliers once, and you'll look forward to stuck screws! These aren't a "miracle" tool, just be aware that they will not work on hardened screws, so if you've got some of those infamously soft screws in your electronics (think of those butter-soft gold colored Philips screws that round out/cam out if you even think about taking a screwdriver to them), break out your PZ-58's and zip those suckers right out effortlessly. I'd say the pliers will grip screws up to maybe a grade 5 hardness, and get the job done. Something like a grade 8, and you'll just destroy the unique serrations on your pliers. I have used these pliers about a dozen times since receiving them, on various screws, and small bolts. They are a much faster, and cleaner option than using an EZ-Out, or a reverse toothed screw extractor. They're cleaner and faster than grinding a notch in the head of a screw, and bearing down on the screw with a larger screwdriver. Way faster and easier than drilling out a screw, or using a reverse drill bit (I'm old enough to remember those little beauties). If you buy a pair of these pliers, do yourself a favor, and purchase the matching cover. Since these handy little pliers (YES, there is more than one size, for larger screws!) are spring loaded, they are open in the resting position. The cover will hold them closed, so they tuck into your pocket, tool pouch, box, or bag much more neatly. Plus, the cover matches the handles...Let's just say that if you like the "Transformers" look, the cover really completes the look; like they will transform into the ENGINEER mascot, "Urus" the screw eating space dinosaur. NICE. They've earned a spot in my go-to tool rotation. They work amazingly well as a general purpose pair of gripping pliers, not just screw removal. Plus, they are beautifully machined and crafted, just like other ENGINEER tools. Quality, efficiency, value, and craftsmanship. Things that mechanically inclined people truly appreciate!

I was working on a project and had to remove some screws- and they stripped. (Which is another story.) So I was looking at methods for removing stripped screws- nothing was working- until I saw a video featuring these. I ordered them yesterday and they came today and Wow! I could not get them to move any other way that I tried- rubber band, vice grips, etc. These pliers worked on the first try. It still took effort as these screws were tight but it saved my project. They never slipped and were small enough for the space I had to work in.

I swear to god the people who made these pliers are MAGICAL WIZARDS. tl;dr: Dremel didn't work? Rubber bands didn't work? Tap extractor didn't work? Before you give up and just drill through the darn screw, possibly screwing up all the material around it, BUY THESE. It will be the best $31 you ever spend. In fact I would have these on hand FIRST and try them before anything else, while you still have an intact screwhead (though it will totally still work on one that is messed up). Long story: I purchased the Sainsmart x Anet A8 printer DIY kit. It came in a super sketchy box from Shenzen. The build quality is a little inconsistent and some of the nuts and bolts are a little tight. This isn't really a problem...until it came to the BUILD PLATE. If you 3d print, you knows that the build plate leveling makes or breaks you. So imagine my abject horror when I discovered that one of the screws for build plate leveling was so tightly stuck in the build plate that my screwdriver had started stripping it. First I tried the rubber band trick. No dice. Then I tried the Dremel with the reinforced fiberglass cutoff wheel, #426. Pro tip for future people in this situation: DO NOT USE THE 426 WHEEL TO CUT A SLOT, IT IS FAR TOO WIDE. The thickness of the cutoff wheel itself combined with the vibration and slippage of the Dremel created a slot that was far too wide for any flat head screwdriver that I owned, and I simply started stripping that too. I kept cutting a deeper and deeper groove until I realized I was simply destroying the screw head. At this point I was ready to cry and give up and detach the whole hot plate assembly so I that I could just drill through the damn thing - but before I did that, I told myself I'd get this little set of pliers ($31, free one-day shipping on Prime to Canada) and give it a try. BOY AM I GLAD I DID. I was afraid the screwhead would simply fall apart under the force of the pliers, but miraculously, this set of pliers is somehow designed to generate enough friction that it was able to grab the screwhead with ease. From the minute you grab and start twisting you'll know whether this is going to work out or not (if even the Nejisaurus won't do it, you're probably actually SOL and should just drill the thing out). You can see from the photo how much of the metal on the plate was literally carved out on to the threads of the screw and how impossible this would have been to remove with a screwdriver. The NEJISAURUS IS MAGIC! (ok really it's friction, but FRICTIONAL MAGIC) Literally shouted for joy. Best $31 I ever spent. So glad to have this in my toolbox now. Also fun fact - neji means "screw" in Japanese. I love these people. Oh my god. <3 FWIW wrt previous reviewers who said the handle was too wide - I am a short female with small hands and I thought this was perfectly fine.

Fantastica pinzetta per svitare viti incastrate o con la testa non più operabile mediante il normale giravite. Personalmente l'ho trovata molto comoda ed utile specialmente in tutti quei casi laddove non è più possibile svitare una vite o bulloncino con un normale utensile in quanto la testa si è rovinata. Ringrazio innanzitutto AMAZON che come al solito è stata fantastica per quanto riguarda i celeri tempi di spedizione, l'imballo e la qualità dei prodotti consegnati. Quante volte capita di usare il cacciavite della misura non corretta o magari di operare su viti corrose o troppo dure in modo che l'usuale cacciavite non ha più la giusta presa sulla testa della vite. Ecco, in tutti questi casi e non solo, questa pinza corre in aiuto del malcapitato rivelandosi un valido ausilio per completare il lavoro. Si tratta di una pinza (meglio dire pinzetta) molto semplice da usare, di robusta costruzione e con la dentellatura studiata per fare presa anche nei casi un po' più difficili. Ha anche una molla che consente una facile apertura durante l'uso. A me è servita in molte occasioni e mi ha dato sempre una grossa mano di aiuto. Dal mio punto di vista ed in base alla mia esperienza, può essere tranquillamente usata in diverse posizioni ed in tantissime occasioni. La marca è una nota marca giapponese sinonimo di qualità, l'impugnatura è ergonomica ed offre, a mio avviso, una buona presa evitando che la pinza scivoli via dalle mani durante l'uso. La dentellatura delle ganasce (tra l'altro fatte di buon acciaio) conferisce un ottima presa sulla testa delle viti e dei bulloni che devono essere rimossi. Nel mio caso ha perfettamente contribuito a soddisfare le mie esigenze. L'ho già usata svariate volte e mi sono sempre trovato bene riuscendo a portare a termine il lavoro senza eccessivi sprechi di tempo. Secondo me è un articolo consigliatissimo.
