G7thNewport 6 String Capo, Gold Plated (G7NPGD)

I have just about every style of capo known to man. I haven't been happy with the performance of most - too often during a performance I've had to fiddle with retuning after capoing, or getting halfway through a song only to find that a string was buzzing, etc.The beauty of this capo is that you set the tension, find the sweet spot, and then you should be good to go, with minor adjustments of the screw, only. We capo at a few different places in my duo, and I do use two guitars with very different neck profiles, but in my experience this capo is the easiest to adjust and most stable during performances.The quality seems excellent. I've used these capos - I have a silver and a gold one - for a little under a year on a number of gigs and for many, many rehearsals and so far they're rock solid. I never thought I'd love a capo this much, but there it is.

PROS: G7th - Performance is very good. Very easy - straight forward to use. One handed operation. Though not the performance 2..That one clips on the headstock..Whoa. Ok..I'll give you that much. IMO does'nt matter. This is attractive I admit fancyness of 18K gold. cool... But we are talking "Performance" here. Makes ya think is evrything really thought of yet. LOL. CONS: NONE!.. Will by, most likely [2] more. They are that good. Yes they have adjustable tension for clamping. Nice handle If you have a shirt with a top pocket or sleeve pocket. slides in nicely. Treat yourself. How many capos are you really wanting to buy in a lifetime; of playing? When they will last a "LIFETIME" enjoy!

Great looking, super sleek... The gold really ties in well with the gold hardware on my Washburn!It doesn’t rest on the stock like some cheaper clamps I’ve used in the past, however the adjustable tension is most important when performing. I always have a pocket I can throw it into.

I wanted to love this capo and I do. I have a couple of Taylor guitars and the reg. G7 performance capo still made a buzzing sound when I put it on no matter how hard I tightened this. This one with the little screw tightener makes that all a thing of the past. It goes very nice with my gold tuning gears and looks nice and works just a well at a Stubb capo but nicer looking.

LOVE! This Capo is beautiful, great quality and works very well. We are a guitar family. We have electrics, acoustics, acoustic electrics, banjos, a bass, and quite a few ukuleles. And if you've stumbled upon this review and don't play...maybe it's time to pick up a guitar. And then purchase this Capo.

For as long as I waited for this capo to arrive I really wanted to be overwhelmed. I had ordered it an entire week ago and then watched as Amazon waited until the last minute to ship it that it was basically shipped overnight. I am having increasing issues with Amazons and how they handle shipping and calculate costs.That said, honestly, I find the capo to be average at best. I have a Taylor and have the set-screw (which has been a feature of Shubb capos for eons) set as tight as it will go and it's not that it buzzes badly or anything, but I have a lever-action capo with as much tension as this and I paid half as much for. So, in my opinion, it's average at best.Shubb is still the best capo out there for pretty much the same price as this one. If you're looking for "pretty," then knock yourselves out, but if you're looking for no-frills functionality, your money would be better spent on a Shubb.Sorry G7th.

Really love this capo! It's sleek, low profile, works great, and--since my Guild has gold tuners--the gold finish on this capo looks terrific with this guitar, and is almost unnoticeable. The adjustment and locking mechanisms work smoothly and quickly. Not inexpensive, but to me well worth the higher price tag because of its unmistakeable quality.
