Genuine WellerMart Shellac is known for its exceptional quality. Used as a wood finish, sealer and to ensure adhesion between other finishes. Garnet is one of the most popular colors on the market. Garnet is not only the most affordable but brings out the figure, color and grain of most types of woods. Garnet gives most types of wood a very warm amber tone. It produces wonderful clarity and depth of shine. One of the nicest things about a shellac finish is its ability to really make the grains pop with a high gloss and depth of shine without that typical thick fake plastic look that varnishes so often produce. Shellac is considered to be king of finishes. This has been shown historically with the famous French Polish. High quality dewaxed shellac has many uses not only in antique restoration but refinishing, sealing for other finishes or to hold objects in place to be engraved, chased or diamond setting. Different colors of shellac can be layered to provide various shades on the finished product. This shade looks especially good on lighter colored woods. Shellac also works well with stains, dyes, varnishes, and other coatings such as Waterlox or Polyurethane.

Excellent product at a good price.
Excellent shellac. I've used 1.5 lbs so far and have been very pleased. The photo shows 6 layers of a 1.5lb cut sprayed on and buffed with paste wax to a satin finish. This shellac takes a nice shine.

Great product. Will order again.
Amazing product. I’m new to refinishing but I have been fascinated by shellac. I am a piano rebuilder and have been getting into player piano rebuilding and have used shellac in many ways on the inside and outside of a player piano. I also recently built some Cajon’s and refinished them with this and they came out amazing!I love the process of dissolving the flakes in alcohol and I feel like I have more control and ownership of the project when I have that kind of care and effort in the materials used. Will definitely order more. Already ordered the Garnet as well as the Platina shades. Equally great quality. Without the wax that is a part of store bought shellac.

Great product
The WellerMart Dewaxed Garnet Shelac disolved nicely overnight. It did not require any addditional straining or other post-mixing treatment. It added a nice rich color to the plain pine trim on my current project. The WellerMart shelac was equal to or better then other shelac flakes that I have used in the past, but at a much better price. I plan on making WellerMart shelac flakes my go-to finish on my future woodworking projects.

Love it! Fully dissolved without any residue and has a nice warm color
I don't have a lot of experience cooking up my own finishes and this one was the first I tried. The flakes dissolved completely over 24 hours. I like the warm reddish dark amber color I get with only 2 coats of 2lb cut even on the cheapest 1-by pine. I will definitely buy this again (and again).

Other reviewers aren't kidding
This is the third brand of amber shellac I've tried and no other has been this easy to deal with. Other brands I've used required a 12 hour wait and I had to scrape a lot of melted gunk off the bottom of the container after that. This shellac dissolves after a couple minutes of stirring. Absolutely stellar.

I also had an excellent experience using these shellac flakes
I also had an excellent experience using these shellac flakes. Dissolved overnight with a little stirring, then used on some mahogany and walnut with great results. I would buy again.

Good product
Might want to order some denatured alcohol online too. Finding high proof denatured alcohol in stores is a bit of a task, you can use a lesser proof. That usually takes allot longer to desolve.

Good product!
Dissolved nicely in denatured alcohol, and applied nicely! Minimal fragments in strainer, dries quickly and gives a nice finish when rubbed in well.
