Considered one of the greatest debut albums in rock history, Van Halen took the music world by storm in 1978 with an 11-song manifesto that features some of rock radio s most played songs of all time and scorching concert staples like "Runnin With The Devil," "Ain t Talkin Bout Love," "Jamie s Cryin ," the band s signature cover of The Kinks "You Really Got Me, " and Eddie Van Halen s finger-tapping tour de force, "Eruption."Mastering engineer Chris Bellman, who remastered the original albums at Bernie Grundman Mastering Studios, was enlisted for this new version. In order to produce the original sound the band intended, Bellman cut straight from the quarter-inch tapes for CD; for 180-gram vinyl; and for the digital versions. A nice remastered album of Van Halen's debut album!
A very nice sounding remastered album from Van Halen's debut album originally released in 1978. Wanted a better listening copy than my original. This sounds dynamic and excellent.

Clean, blemish, scratch free record!
This is only the 2nd record I've bought off Amazon that has no scratches or blemishes. The other was the Jimi Hendrix: Are Your Experienced. All others had blemishes or scratches. The record itself sounds excellent. Compared to the newer remastered digital FLAC file on Tidal, the record has a more laid back, better bass master sounding better than the FLAC file. Very impressed with this. This is being played on a Fluance Reference Series RT82 Turntable with an Ortofon OM 10 cart.

One of the best bands ever!
Hearing Van Halen again hit me.. I was instantly teleported back to my youth and remembered hearing this album for the first time on Cassette! The vocals, the thumping bass, the screaming guitar, the roaring drums OMG it was such a blast hearing that incredible music once more. Good "heavy" 180g vinyl. Arrived in perfect shape. No box dings. Well wrapped, etc. I never collected the original pressing of many album but I sure am having a ball collecting these re-press copies now! In today's world with so many electronics and digital formats and streaming etc etc.. Who knew something as simple as playing a record could be so enjoyable! I'm having a blast collecting and re-discovering Vinyl Records!!! I say go for it!

Incredible remaster by Chris Bellman!
Wow! This is a fantastic remaster of one of the 1970s great debut albums. I have two original LPs that sound great, but this pressing is awesome! Eddie Van Halen's guitar solos never sounded better. The record itself is very, very quiet, which makes the dynamics and soundstage sound even better! David Lee Roth's vocals are clear and distinct with no sibilance while the drums and bass are easily heard. This record is made to be played loud and man, does it play loud! Crank it up and you'll swear you are at a VH concert! Did I mention that the record is very, very quiet? If you are even thinking about buying this LP, stop thinking! Buy it! You will not regret it. But, you will regret not buying it when it finally sells out and the only place to purchase it is in the secondary market for 5 times the price! Oh, did I mention the vinyl is very, very quiet!!

Very good quality pressing
Vinyl cut by Chris Bellman and pressed by Record Industry in The Netherlands on 180g vinyl. This pressing plays dead quiet like a CD and comes with a heavy gauge inner. The vinyl was flat, had no scuffs, and was super clean. Unlike many new pressings these days it did not need an initial wet clean. The product and packaging are A+ and a deal. Sonically I think it sounds very good. I give it a 9 out of 10. It is very crankable. Given how hard it is dealing with sellers on the secondary market to accurately grade records, save yourself the frustration and pick up this super clean pressing.

Awesome pressing of a classic rock album
Awesome pressing of a classic rock album. Sounds better than my CD.... not sure if it was remastered, but definitely the mix sounds WAY better. Knocked one star for "Ice Cream Man"... it may have some weird sibilance in a few parts of the vocals (maybe inner-groove distortion, but my stylus is newer and setup properly)... Anyway, overall a great record.

Songs are good, but the record is chipped and scratchy. There is no replacement on the record. Wastage of money.

Slightly warped, which seems to be the norm these days with newly pressed records... the sound wasnt effected .. this is the 2019 pressing, you can tell by the new Warner logo... The debut for VH is an abolute classic.. I have '1984', also purchased here and an old copy of '51/50' and I'm not sure what took me so long to pick this disc up? Recommended!!
