Grab your car's jack and some wood, plus zipties
We don't need no stinkin' helpers! This range hood weighs over 50 pounds but is still a one man job if you need it to be. Just jack up the hood over your stove using a piece of wood (see pic) to place your car's jack on it and raise it up.I also ran zipties through the 4 holes you must drill to mount the hood to the cabinet above it. Zipties were needed since the jack itself could not raise the hood all the way to the top to meet the cabinet. A couple beers seemed to make it more fun but that goes without saying. It's fairly loud even on its lowest setting but I think part of my noise issue is that my 8" ducting isn't wrapped/insulated yet. Once wrapped, it should get a little quieter. It has a nice feature where you can leave the kitchen once you are finished cooking and set the fan and light to turn off after an additional 15 minutes of operation to clear out the remaining odor. The lights are bright and for the money it's the most commercial level hood I could find (1,000 CFM suction) plus it looks great once installed.

Works great!
The media could not be loaded. I do alot of cooking and this thing is perfect. If you're a handyman it’s a pretty easy install. The ductwork might be a bit of work if you haven't done it before. Great air flow exactly what I wanted. Gets all the unwanted smoke out! Very sturdy! However, it’s very loud, if someone is talking to me while it’s on, I will not be able to hear them from the kitchen.

Overall really nice upgrade if you have muscle to do so!
Hood really upgraded the kitchen, It works great, really pulls out all the cooking odors from the kitchen, was really heavy and hard to install because of the weight! No regrets yet other than the effort to install!

Very weak suction
I bought this to upgrade my old hood vent that was rated at 500CFM. Turned out this is a downgrade to me. The family has been questioning why this is so weak, and they would prefer the old one.I hired a professional installer to make sure it was done right because we would have to upgrade the duct to 8in. That included cutting the roof to put in a new 8in roof vent, cutting the ceiling and ran a new 8in metal pipe through. To increase suction, I bought an expensive round neck roof vent and made sure the duct runs straight to the roof without turns or duct reducer. Everything is solid 8in all across the board and is the best setup you could ever get for a hood vent.At the end, the result was shocking. The suction was so weak although the noise at max level was very loud. We went up on the roof with the installer, and he ran an inspector camera down the duct to check if the metal pieces inside open and close properly. Everything was fine. So at this point, they couldn’t do anything else. It is an issue with the hood vent.I temporarily used it to evaluate how weak it is. Turned out it is even weaker than my previous hood vent which was rated at 500CFM. This is advertised at 1000CFM, double in CFM but not even performing at the level of 500CFM??? That is unreal to me. After cooking for a month or so, I can tell that this is no way 1000CFM. Steam, smell, smoke, etc. still escape the suction at max level. Forget about other lower setting, we keep it on max setting every time to at least get some out of the house. The other day we cooked soup in an 11” high pot, the steam still escaped the suction. Note that we installed this hood vent 27.75” above the cook top. With an 11” high pot on the cook top, the steam was only 16.75” below the hood vent, but some steam still escaped???Being disappointed, I contacted the seller. After a lot of emails back and forth, they suspected that the unit was defective. They asked me to buy another unit (and pay for it) and send the defective back (for a refund of the defective one). I contacted my installer to see if he would help replace the defective to a new one. He stop by to inspect it one more time and said this unit is no where close to 1000CFM. His input was that even if we get a replacement from the seller, it might just be the same because the hood vent seems to be running like it was made, just not strong suction as described. So we just bite the bullet and didn’t go through the replacement process as the seller suggested. The cost to have the installer come take the unit down and install the replacement unit is the same as the new unit. Don’t even think about installing this alone. It is a 2-3 people job. Even after paying all those (new unit, new installation cost), I still might get the same weak suction. You get what you pay for. 1000CFM hood vent at $300 range is not right at all.

Does the Job!!
It looks great and works amazing! It was a challenge to install because of it's weight but two people working together can get the job done with some patience. We are very happy with it's performance.

Working sound issue
Too loud noise, looks good but working is so sound.

Works well. Install could be improved.
Works well and looks good. Somewhat noisy. Installation a challenge.Manufacturer should re-think the install methodology. Should not be necessary to use jack stands to lift unit into place. A pre-mounted rear plate such as many under counter microwaves use, would be helpful.
