Chandrika Bath and Body Ayurvedic Bar Soap, 2.64 oz (Pack of 6)

I have been using this soap for years and although it has an updated look and feel to the packaging it is indeed the same soap I remember using for about 20 years now. To describe the scent, since so many are opinionated about it, is to say it is definitely not a "western scent". You are not getting "Irish Spring" or "Lifebouy" here. This is an eastern scent which makes it all the more akin to what we may describe as incense. It reminds me of a woody, lime-y, incense that has a lasting smell. Now, if you are not a lover or oriental or woody, even earthy or smokey smells this soap would not be for you based on the smell alone. However, I do believe in it's powers to heal and to cleanse. Remember the ayurvedic system of herbalism is 4000-6000 years old and these amazing plants in India have a remarkable power to balance and heal. This is not something they invented last year, so I trust the passing of time and the millions, perhaps even a billion of people who have used this soap with success. I find that while it may be drying to some, it is useful for oily skin and it makes me feel especially clean and refreshed. The makers it seems, being Indian, have respect for those who are vegetarian and so there seems to be no animal products in the soap (remember the sacred cows of India.) This is nice to know even though I am not usually into that sort of thing. I certainly feel cleaner knowing its based on plant oils than animal oils. Just imagine bathing in animal oils and by products. Just doesn't seem as clean to me.

This soap smells SO GOOD! We had the 10 packs sitting in our bedroom for a couple of hours and when we walked in the whole room smelled like this soap. When we take a shower you KNOW if this soap was used because the whole bathroom will smell like it and the scent stays on your skin too unlike other bath soaps or gels. We bought it from Mom's Organic and afterwards we LOVED it and so I came on here to buy it in bulk. I gave one to each family member as a gift too so that they can also experience how awesome this soap is.

Twice I have ordered this item. I love this soap but the description is INCORRECT AND DECEIVING. I ordered the oval soap and did not get it. Complained but accepted the order thinking it was a mistake. Lies. Ordered again on good faith. Again, wrong product. FIX IT.

Received the new oval soaps (which they do list oval in the title, but they need to change their photo---this is not the rectangle version and I wanted the original rectangle soap that is pictured). The lathering properties are still great but this soap feels greasier and doesn't smell the same, more citrusy and feminine. It's still a great soap worth $1 a bar, but not what is pictured. I will be looking for the original bar again next and won't be reordering from this one.

My husband loves the soap, but wanted the oval shape. We ordered the 10 oval soaps for $10.00, but instead got the rectangular shaped soap. If we wanted the rectangular shaped soap, I could of gotten it for $0.60 a bar, rather than the $1.00 a bar (which would of been a savings of $4.00, when you buy 10 bars.)It even says oval in the heading and description. So if I was you I wouldn't order the soap from Amazon when you can get it cheaper on a different site. And it's not really free shipping if you have to pay $0.40 more a bar. The soap itself is a wonderful soap, smells great and feels great on the body.

I was recommended this product by my aunt and it is so wonderful to clear up the skin I do recommend however that if you use it as a facial soap that you do use a facial moisturize afterwards and this also works great for clearing up any kind of random pimples on your body or body acne I highly suggest this soap to everyone. I use this soap for my face on a daily basis, on a feminine side note: ladies this soap clears my breakouts up super quick after “Aunt Flo” has stopped in for her monthly 5 day visit.

This healing and death-free soap will literally cleanse your chakras I'm not kidding around and it smells good too. Oh and it's jade green.

First: the smell of the soap is strong, but fades in afew hours. It smells like incense; and Lanolin; sort of... Aromatherapuetic focal point for meditation in the bath or after an unexpected bonus!My cuticles stopped cracking after the second use, my Fingernails are no longer brittle, and it softens skin amazingly.This is a great product for dry flaky skin, but it will clash with perfume or cologne; plan accordingly.
