Life-changing for parents of children with asthma
Our 2 year-old has chronic asthma that requires hospitalization if he catches a bad bug. We need to know his oxygen levels when he gets sick, and the numbers need to be accurate. This little thing gives us great peace of mind because it will alert us if his oxygen dips too low while sleeping. Further, it creates a record that we can show the peditrician so she can analyze readings over a period of time, rather than just a snapshot. We lost our first son to SIDS, in the middle of the day, when he was 10 weeks old. Having a child with chronic breathing issues has been a major PTSD trigger for both my husband and I. This little thing, much like the owlet for infants, gives us the information we need to make real decisions about his care. We have the $20 oxygen reader that clamps onto your finger, but that just makes me test him over and over when he is sick. This device I can put on his thumb after he falls asleep and I know it will alert me when necessary. What makes it even better than the owlet or other devices is that I can choose when to be alarmed. Instead of the manufacturer deciding what number to alert me at, say 90%, I can choose to set the alarm at 92% and then monitor him more closely if I need to. If you have a child with respiratory issues, this thing is worth every . single . cent.

awesome real time pulse oximeter for kids,
It is an awesome pulse oximeter for kids, traditional finger-clip oximeter will hurt my niece’s finger, I have to check her finger frequently, but this ring is very comfortable. it is very cute with stars, and she loves it!I really like its alarm function, it saved me from closely monitoring by beeping me on the device and APP when her oxygen levels drop down, what a super real-time monitor!!!Besides, I can share the report with our doctor conveniently at home, our doctor was quite impressed with this thing. His jaw about hit the floor, he said he had no idea something like this even existed, he encouraged us to keep using it.I am very happy to have this, I will recommend it to others.

Does not alarm on pulse rates
We bought this after our daughter had a severe seizure due to encephalitis. It has been very helpful to monitor her while she sleeps. Last night she came down with a fever (assuming from a virus), and we can tell how she is feeling based on her pulse. It would be really beneficial if there was a way to set up an alarm on a high pulse rate so that we could catch when the fever starts coming back to get her some more tylenol before it fully wears off.Note that the device itself will make a chirping noise if the spo2 level falls below your set threshold. If you have the app open i think it will also ding your phone. You must leave the app open and focused on your phone for your phone to monitor and alert, otherwise the alert will only come from the device. Anytime you navigate away from the app, you have to reconnect to the device when you re-enter the application. The app will not allow the phone to sleep when you are in the monitoring dashboard, so you could effectively use it as a display all night long if you wanted. Note that the bluetooth connection seems to have a 15 foot range, and doesn't go through walls well so you pretty much need to be in the same room to monitor the stats on your phone.

Bluetooth is glitchy
While I want to love this product, it was not consistent. The ring would lose signal through the night. We also couldn't even be in the next room without our phone. It's a great idea and when it did stay connected it provided us a lot of peace of mind.We tried pairing it with multiple devices and over different connections even, but the fact remained we couldn't go more than 10 feet without fearing we would lose connection. That defeated the purpose of this for us.Other wise, the readings were great, the setup on the app was very clear and tracked exactly what we needed. It held a charge great and our it didn't irritate our child's fingers. If the company improves the bluetooth with later versions, than we would definitely consider this product again.

Overall recommend, struggles with bluetooth at times.
This item is nice if you just want to monitor how your child is sleeping overnight, but not necessarily throughout the night. My Bluetooth connection was almost entirely broken up at 15 feet from her bedroom, our house has split bedroom so it's too far at night for me to just spot check. Also I can't just walk near her room and reconnect, I have to actually touch the ring, and I can't do it without waking her. Also it just flat out refuses to connect sometimes, I'll have to close out the app or even restart my phone. On average 5 minutes to get it to connect.BUT you don't have to do that. You can just connect in the morning after the child wears it and download the entire summary. It was pretty detailed, I question how accurate the movement indicator was, but honestly I wasn't all that worried about accuracy there. The spO2 seems to be spot on! It looks like it reads every couple of secondsI have actually worn the ring myself just to see if it would work (about a size 5 ring finger and it was snug). I have sleep apnea, and it showed the drops in O2 and lengths of duration. I wanted one I could use on my kids but the bonus is that I can use it on myself to see how cpap therapy is working.

Wouldn't recommend over the age of 2. Band is small
I bought this for my son who has suspected sleep apnea. He's 6 years old. I am on a sleep apnea Facebook page and despite good reviews on here. The Facebook group had very different things to say. Many said that it's very small and wouldn't fit a child over the age of two. Well, I had already ordered it and am desperate, so I crossed my fingers and hoped it would fit. Sure enough it's small. Despite being stretchy it still turned every finger blue, except his pinky. But unfortunately it's too big on his pinky 😑😑. I'm now trying to think of ways to keep it in place on his pinky. Definitely disappointed

Didn’t work for moving child.
I was trying to gets this to work when my son was awake. My son has to be hooked up to a oxygen monitor 24/7. It would have been awesome if this work have worked when he was awake. We did return it without a problem. And I was trying to get it to work a way it isn’t designed for.
