Funnily enough the first thing that impressed me with this watch is that it came with a spare battery! The strap is quite big so I have to wear it a slightly higher on my wrist than I would normally do. The watch has three main functions on it. The normal time displayed as digital and analogue. A stopwatch function. And you can set an alarm on it too. The clasp on the strap is where the gadgets are. There is a compass, a whistle and either side of the clasp is a flint and striker for lighting fires. I don't know if you would survive in the jungle with this but it's fine for the Great British outdoors as it's waterproof. The instructions come in English.

I bought 2 of these with different branding. Otherwise they are identical so here's my review: OK I don't think this is a serious watch for grown ups. However, when I was a boy scout, many moons ago, I used to carry my Swiss army knife with me everywhere. Knives are now frowned on for young boys, even ones with the little tool to get stones out of horses' hoofs, so this could be the next best thing.It's a big chunky beast of a watch. It has both mechanical hands and an lcd display. The backlight for the lcd is terrible, and for me the display was very difficult to read.However, for a boy (or girl) in their teens, there are some geek points to be had. The strap includes a small compass which actually works. There's a scraper tool too which can work with a small magnesium block to allegedly start a fire. There’s 3 metres of cord which forms the straps, but I suspect once you unravel it you’ll never be able to put it back, but hey surviving means you have to make compromises.There's a stopwatch and alarm functions to help you to wake up in the woods, and I do like the fact they give you a spare battery in the box.So yes it’s gimmicky, but as a 12 year old scout, I would have loved it!

For the money I think this is a great watch. It has lots of features which would come in handy if out camping or just as a normal watch it looks more expensive than it is. The instructions only highlight the button uses and not the actual outdoors capabilities of the watch but the advert here in Amazon basically describes what the watch can do. This was a gift for my cousin and he loves it.

Very happy with this. Has the main items you need in survival. Good back light. The flint tool works very well tried lighting a small bit of paper and works, the whistle is quite loud , perfect bit of kit with this watch, Great item for any man or woman for survival. Very happy

I have had this just over a month and a strap pin broke and the watch fell off my wrist and landed in a puddle. The strap is loose fitting so I assume poor quality in the build as there was no pressure on the strap which would have made it break. Unfortunately it's outside the return/refund period on Amazon which is pretty poor in my opinion. Admittedly it was a cheap watch but I expected more than a months use out of it. The visibility of the dials isn't the best and the back screen light is also very poor. I would recommend avoiding buying this and not simply because of the issue with the strap, the compass also has a mind of it's own and is very unreliable.

It's a very strong strap, the watch looks and feels really good but I've not used the fire starter yet I have tried it and it's a good sparker. I'll find that out next week in the wilderness of the Cairngorms

I bought this for my brother and he is thrilled with it. The functions on it are great and for the money it is excellent. It's very durable and well made but not too heavy. It's easy to work and instructions are clear. Comes in a lovely box as well so ideal as a gift!

My partner had to alter the length of the straps, as it was so big. He keeps wearing it. It has brilliant tools on it, but the little compass keeps showing the wrong direction. He took the watch off and it seems to be more accurate. He absolutely loves it!
