a real good product
This pump is very well designed, Made of good quality plastic and you can install itAlmost every angle and direction you like. I had managed to install it inMy kayak there is really limited installation option.when I turned it on i got surprised by its strong currentthat pump is working great and does the job quickly with muffled noiseLike a heavy duty servo. the electronic sensor is excellentThis is why I bought it, since I burned my previous pumpand i was Looking for an other suitable solution.(there is no place for floating switch, etc in a kayak)I think this is one of the best purchases I made this year.

Zero stars
This product has been installed for less than a year. It pumped sporadically at first, and would frequently run with little or no water in the bilge. When it ran it could only be stopped manually. It seems to have an air lock and doesn’t pump. Removing the strainer and reinstalling it sometimes gets it to pump. I don’t trust it to pump the bilge if I’m not on the boat. A waste of money and effort on a non-reliable product. Zero stars is my real rating.

Works great
Installing this thing in my engine sump under the engine in my sailboat was a chore but it works great and sucks nearly all the water out if installed at the proper angle. It took me a couple times to get it right using only one eye and three fingers. The one way valve worked better than expected and keeps the water from flowing back into the bilge. The auto function works flawlessly.

Height Requirement for 650 GPM Supersub Smart Bilge Pump
Minimum height with hose outlet turned sideways is 2 inches, without the angled base. The height with the included angle base (lowers the suction head) is 2 1/2 inches, or 1/2" more with the angle base. Good enough for our Sailboat, below the floor boards. If you don't have 2 inches, get the 500 GPM, like the one we replaced after 8 years, which had started squeaking.

Compact, easy to set-up and install
Compact size makes this ideal in bilge under engine. Automatic pump feature relies on sensor being vertical so make sure when placed it is totally upright.I would by again

The auto on/off feature tested fine with a bucket of water and worked fine during ...
It came quickly and was as ordered. I had to make an aluminum bracket to mount it since the old pump had a round base and this pump is long and thin. I ran a (fused) positive wire to the pump for the automatic feature and then connected the manual override and negative wires to the existing wiring. It pumps quickly and only leaves about 1/2" of water in the bilge. The auto on/off feature tested fine with a bucket of water and worked fine during 2 rainfalls.

“Not so” Great Pump
After a few months of use, I’ve well lowered the stars. On the positive side, the water detection feature is one of the best I’ve used. And this is where the positive ends.I keep having the strainer pop off. I make sure it’s good b’ tight, but it’s only an o-ring seal that holds it in place. I’d expect some sort of retainer ring, or even a set screw, but no.Another thing that drives me nuts is it won’t easily prime. The thing can be submerged in water, and I have to move it around before it will start to suck water. I’ve never had a bilge pump do that before and it’s frustrating.Additionally, the yellow plastic mount ended up breaking at one of the tabs. It was only a tiny piece that broke, but not the pump won’t stay in its place. I don’t think it was my fault, but regardless of blame, I tried emailing the company so I could buy a replacement. I’ve now sent 2 emails and no response. So this kinda shows you the lack of support you’ll have.So now I’m out the $$, and have to find a replacement. Super annoying, but that’s just how boating goes I guess.
