Yes, these glasses truly are unbreakable
If you were the kind of person who looks at this product and thinks, “huh, I wonder why anyone cares that they are made out of tempered glass“, then just keep looking. I’m sure that somewhere on Amazon you can find beautifully delicate water glasses that have been spun from the tears of kittens. If, on the other hand, you live in the kind of household where the treatment of your glassware violates the terms of the Geneva Convention, then these are the glasses for you. I would like to say that we are this latter kind of household, though I’m not actually sure if anybody else in the house contributes to the regular shattering of water and wine glasses, or if I have accomplished that all by myself. Suffice it to say that by the end of last summer, I was staring at the usual mishmash of mismatched glasses that results from me purchasing and smashing several different sets of glasses, mostly from IKEA and Target, over the course of several years. Then it occurred to me that maybe modern science, while it has failed to deliver cheap renewable energy or a cure for the common cold, may have solved this particular problem. I checked out the various tempered glass options on Amazon, and picked these out for their very plain lines. I ordered the larger size as well.I was very happy with this purchase from the moment we unboxed them. The small and large glasses nest beautifully, so we have freed up 2/3 of our glass shelf because the glasses fit together now.The glasses themselves look very nice, feel like they are good quality, fit nicely in your hand, and most important, have really decent capacity. Even the smaller glasses, well they look petite, actually fit the equivalent of a standard water glass. The larger size are downright generous. The only drawback is that they have a slightly rounded drinking edge, which I do not love the feel of… I prefer a glass with a very straight flat edge. But it doesn’t really bother me.Despite my enthusiasm, I held back on writing a review, because it seemed to me that the real test of these glasses was whether they could survive a month in my possession. They made it through the first month without a single break, but I thought, hey, maybe I’ve been on my best behavior for the new glasses… You know, to impress them.Somewhere in the middle of month to (you know, once you’ve settled in and you’re no longer on your best behavior) I knocked one of these babies off the coffee table in the kind of scenario that has brought a messy end to many a water glass. I momentarily braced for the sound of shattering and the next hour of cleanup and vacuuming, but miracle of miracles they practically bounced off our wooden floor. I was wowed. But I really fell in love on the day that I hurled one of these glasses off the kitchen counter and across our dining room. No, I wasn’t mad at my husband or anything; I am just that clumsy. (I told you, it is not a fun thing to be a water glass in my home.). Anyhow, I thought that for sure this thing was going to smash, because how the heck can a glass fly 6 feet across a room and land on the wooden floor and survive to tell the tale?Well, let me assure you that while I have not actually overheard the glass talking to any of the other glasses about its harrowing journey across the dining room, I can nonetheless say it survived its stunt. Amazing!I highly recommend these glasses to anyone who is clumsy or has children, or God forbid (as in the case of our home) both. These are the glasses that can solve the mismatched glassware nightmare once and for all.UPDATE: We did it!!! It took ten months, but we finally broke our first glass. And by "we" I mean my husband, though I can hardly point fingers when the only reason he broke the glass is because I was busy pretending that the sink was NOT full of dirty dishes. But he dropped our Bormioli water glass....onto the rim of a Duralex tempered glass bowl. In the battle of Duralex bowl vs Bormioli glass, the Duralex bowl won, and the glass broke. Make of this what you will.

Glass encourages me to drink more water
Love these drinking glasses! I try to drink a lot of water and am very picky about the type of glass I drink from. I like a thinish rim and these are just that. I also like a smaller glass so I can refill with cold water. Much more enjoyable to drink from than a large thick glass. Pretty too!Thickness:Sturdy but not thickFeel:SmoothQuality:High quality

Timeless, simple, beautiful, durable, inexpensive.
I own about 50 of these since finding them about 10 years ago. They are everywhere in my house.A few bullet points:1. They stack easily. A stack of 5 fits neatly in my cupboard. They stick together a bit if stacked while still hot, but they come apart easily.2. They are quite durable. I have hardwood floors and granite counters. I drop them occasionally. In over 10 years of owning a bunch of these, I've only broken 2 or 3.3. They don't easily etch. I put these in the dishwasher, and only a few show any signs of wear.4. They are easy to clean and empty. A uniform diameter means it's easy to get a spoon, spatula, or sponge inside. I use these for cooking and baking, both as vessels and as mixing and pouring containers.5. They work for any beverage. I no longer stock wine, beer, or rocks glasses. These don't provide "optimal" drinking for fancier beer/wine, but they are at least 90% as good as the expensive glassware that I've retired over the years. These are never the "wrong" answer for your beverage, and they never feel out of place in classy or casual settings.6. They are inexpensive. At about $3 each, they work well as vessels for gifts or for bringing desserts to potlucks and the like. I make an oreo pudding thing in them, and the layers look really neat inside. Also good for single-serving pastas, single-serving guacamole bowls, and overnight oats.7. They freeze and store well. I freeze soups in them and cover with little silicone lids. I have about 10 in my freezer right now. Also good for small amounts of leftovers in the fridge. They microwave, bake, and air-fry just fine.I could afford nicer rocks glasses and the like, but I just adore the honest, simple, and high-quality functionality and looks of these.

The glass Is a little cheap
Overall worth the price and they look as photographed online. The glass is a bit cheap so the bottoms of the glass isn't super clear, it has some weird melted pattern. I got a set of these 2 years ago and loved them but I can't remember where I ordered them from. These are close in quality.

Small and stackable
Unusual size, and stackable. I like Bernoulli glasses as I have pets and don’t want broken glasses to shard - these break into safer pieces

Love these but they are not 17oz . 16oz to rim
Very happy with the look and feel of these glasses. But, they are definitely not 17oz. I used two different measuring cups and both show the glasses to be 16oz to the very tippy top of the rim. Frustrated because I was really looking for a glass that could actually hold close to 16oz.Then I checked to see if it could be because European ounce is smaller than US ounce and it turns out the Imperial Ounce is slightly less (.96) , but that still doesn't make up for the difference I'm measuring.I really like the look and feel (not too heavy or thick) of the glasses, so going to keep.Update 6 weeks later: Absolutely LOVE these glasses. They aren't super thick (which I like, especially at the rim) but are plenty sturdy. I have smaller hands and they are more comfortable than some larger ones, yet my husband and sons also say they really like them. Wish I had discovered them years ago! I've got several types of glasses/cups and now use these exclusively. Looking forward to clearing out the cabinet, getting rid of a ton of plastic tumblers.
