Great and easy for deterring pick-pocketers on my mini backpack
What I really loved about this lock, aside from being small and light weight, is that I didn't have to scramble the numbers for the lock to stay shut. You can close it and press the button to open again - very easy. I didn't want to bother with scrambling the numbers to prevent anyone from opening it because as far as I was concerned, I figured the lock being closed on my mini backpack was deterrent enough for pick pocketers. Most would think the numbers are scrambled anyhow, and others wouldn't bother trying to come up press the button, and then fiddle with the lock in an effort to discreetly open my backpack. That would have been too noticeable, so it did its job and I didn't have to constantly align the numbers each time I needed to get into my backpack, which by the way didn't have anything important or valuable as those things were in my fanny pack.For my luggage, of course I scrambled the numbers, and it worked fine, just as you would expect for any lock.

Difficult if you have limited mobility in your hands and fingers
These locks are sturdy and secure. However, I had to return mine because setting the code is very difficult - especially if you have hand problems or finger arthritis. I found it too difficult to use a tool to hold down a pin on the very bottom while simultaneously try to dial the right numbers for my custom code. The dials don't move easily. The result was that I set one lock but failed on the other one. In the instructions, it states that if you fail once, that was your only shot. So one lock is totally useless because apparently I moved the dial numbers a bit and unknown numbers were set. For that reason, I give this caution - not for handicapped or those with hand/finger mobility issues.

Airport Approved
Worked perfectly to lock up my ice hockey equipment for the airport. TSA did not question me having locks or cut them off. I will be using them again.

So frustrating to try to set a code
I followed the instructions for setting the code on both locks (even after reading through reviews to make sure I was doing it correctly), and the code I set did not work and the locks wouldn't open. I spent about 2 hours trying every single combination of the numbers around the ones I had set, including putting the arrows in between the numbers (like the seller suggests). No luck.I was so angry that I threw them against the wall...and then they popped open. So I tried setting the codes again. I made sure that I was holding a pen steady to push in the reset button without wobbling, I made quadruple sure that the numbers I was setting were lined up with the arrows and in the little grooves and not between, I set the numbers by moving the dial to the left (so the numbers were getting larger) like someone suggested in the reviews, and I kept the reset button pushed in as I re-locked the lock (which is not what the instructions say to do). And it worked. And then I did the exact same procedure with the second lock....and it didn't work and that lock is now locked again and I can't open it. Maybe I'll have to throw it against the wall again but I'm so frustrated with these locks. I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong.The seller said in a couple of questions from other people with the same problem that you should go to your order number and click "contact the seller" and then they'll send you a new one. But there is no "contact the seller" on the order number -- only "send feedback." So I did that but no response.
