Expensive but awesome
We converted our pantry into a dog room after installing a new dog door. The pantry is about 5x6 ft and it does not have its own air vent. We leave the door to the pantry open for air circulation but we wanted to have both a lighting fixture and fan in there. I found this fan on amazon and decided to give it a go. While it's quite large for the pantry room size, it's incredibly powerful and does a great job of cooling and circulating air. I like the dimmable light feature with the remote -- we dim the light at night and put it higher during the day for the dogs. The fan itself is pretty quiet, and I think if it were installed in a regular-sized room, it would be even more quiet (the sound amplifies in our pantry as it is small). However, there is a pretty noticeable sound difference between level 2 and level 3 of the fan. Level 3 is quite loud (highest setting). So, I usually keep the fan on level 2. Overall, this thing is great! It's the most expensive ceiling fixture I've ever purchased, but it serves the exact purpose I bought it for, and the style fits in well with our decor. I recommend it.

This fan/light works beautifully for me (avoid the look-alike)
A little less than a year ago we moved into our 141 year old Vermont farmhouse (a real farmhouse, not a design adjective) and are slowly making improvements. We needed a ceiling light in our bedroom and were glad to find this Fanimation light/fan combo. My husband had to run electric into the ceiling and had everything completed within 45 minutes. He also installed a wall switch so the unit can be operated with the switch and/or remote. Obviously he knows what he’s doing. The fan works great-high is too cold for me now but may come in handy during the summer months (no air conditioning). On low and medium speed, noise is negligible. On high speed, it sounds like a fan, white noise to me, not intrusive and not an issue. I will probably reverse the fan direction for fall & winter months. I appreciate the ability to make that change. The light is good and the dimming function is really useful. This fan/light really fits beautifully with the hand hewn ceiling beams. We like it so much that we purchased another for our kitchen. Even though the rooms are not adjacent, the remotes conflicted with each other. My husband was able to “fix” that issue easily. We purchased a similar, look alike unit (on Amazon) from a different company for our living room because the fan supposedly had stronger air movement. I’m not convinced about that claim. It looks the same but with several shortcomings. This inferior alternative came with no battery for the remote. The battery is an unusual size and how can you check the installation without a working remote? This “other” fan is not reversible and the lights can not be dimmed, and no light bulbs were included. The Fanimation unit is clearly superior to me. It looks great, works as described, and came complete with remote battery and very attractive LED light bulbs. Highly recommended.

Stylish small and quiet fan.
Works wonderfully. Was overall easy to install if you've installed other light fixtures or fans, it's the same song and dance:Remove old hardware, install bracket, build fan, Mount fan on bracket, Wire and close. About an hour install at most.Comes with a nifty remote and some nice bulbs. My primary reason for purchasing this exact fan was it is encased fully in the frame, allowing me to wire a pully system around it for my VR setup, a regular fan would not have permitted this to work, but it works perfectly with this fan.Small, but still moves a good amount of air, very directional and a small area of effect directly under the fan. It won't give you a breeze too far from under it. Motor is fairly quiet and well balanced, so there's no shaking.

Great value, OK product
I got this reduced for $109. For that price, I am very pleased. Installation was pretty straight forward. I really do like the looks of this fan, and it was the perfect design for my sons' bedroom. There is a bunk bed in that room, and the ceiling fan was just too close to the bed to be safe. So this one, with its smaller diameter and cage around the blades was ideal for my needs. I have 3 things I do not like about it, but none are deal breakers.1. The diameter of the wall plate is too small and didnt quite cover the hole in the ceiling. Once Im sure there will be no problems with it, I will caulk around the edge.2. The instructions said the fan should only be installed in rooms where you have 10 foot from the fan blades to the floor. So that means an 11 ft ceiling. This is ridiculous. I know very few people who have 11 foot bedroom ceilings. I think this ties into the small diameter of the fan blades. While it blows very hard, the air movement is only good directly below the blades. The higher the ceiling, the better the air movement would be with this. But they dont clarify that in the instructions, they just say 10ft minimum height. This is very confusing.3. The fan is quite loud when on high. the other speeds are fine. But on high, it is definitely the loudest ceiling fan I have ever owned.

Great fan and light combo for kids room
We got our first one at Lowes and purchased this one here. We have these it two rooms that are used by kids. If you have or are planning to get bunk or loft style bed, I highly recommend this unit! The adjustable and reversible amount of air is great... from low to hurricane! The bulbs that come with it are OK, but we upgraded to a slight more powerful bulb, also and LED type.We also purchased a second remote control to allow for our teen to have a control in a holder on her to bunk. This allows for her to be in bed while reading and then turn out the lights at night without having to climb the bunk bed in the dark. The smaller fan blade length and cage around the blades relieves worry than a child or teen will be struck by a blade while on the top bunk. We see this as a strong selling point. The instructions were easy to follow although the final step of tucking the wiring and emplacement of the cover is a bit tricky and may take a few tries.
