Awesome audio Interface
Could not believe how much functions you can get for the price. After doing a little research for a stream audio interface. Was just going to get a simple in out to my iphone to record vocal while being portable. The dsp blew me away and sound quality is top notch. Was hard mixing and doing audio from a iphone screen (plan to do it on my ipad later). But for a clean sound for singing while parked in a car. Nothing will beat this. So versatile, powered by usb-c phone (tho i may be using the wrong c to c cable). Unit says its not enough power. But it worked anyway. Just annoying power ring flashing all the time. You can remedy that with a plug in adapter which is comes with. But the main point is you get 6 channel of pristine pre-amp. Daw connection. Two headphone drive. Ipad recording software. Dsp up the ying yang (for vocals and gtrs). Still can’t get over only paid $237 for it. I’ve doing music recording for long time. They were in the 1000s for this much function. Five start all the way. Its the only audio interface you will need. And I looked at a bunch of them. Regret not getting it sooner

MUSIC: Best 6-input Audio Interface for the price.
32-bit & 192kHz across all 6 inputs for a reasonable price. This helps record every ultrasonic nuance of microphones and instruments with higher fidelity. Before Steinberg, I was using a combo of virtual audio cable software and separate USB MIDI inputs, but they do not work very well in music production. Multiple USB audio interfaces nowadays for instruments like the TR-8S just don't mesh together well for recording internally in a PC. This is all why I decided to go for MIDI (USB & DIN) & Line Audio when producing music. Easy with the Steinberg UR44C. A lot of people here mention the software: The Yamaha/Steinberg ASIO drivers on the Steinberg website are an easy install in Windows 11, and work flawlessly in any major DAW. I use a few like FL Studio and Ableton Live 12. Great! HOWEVER, the other Steinberg-included software like dspMixFx have e-Licenser requirements that I refuse to clutter my music PC with. Those softwares are useless with a basic DAW with basic plugins, anyway. During install there is an option to select only the Yamaha / Steinberg driver.

Excellent interface
My main reason for choosing this was the fact that I run Nuendo/Cubase 13 on my system. But, this is not the only reason that I find this a great piece of equipment. The ease of routing and real-time fx in the dspMixFx app sold me the most. Very helpful, and flexible as well! The preamps are robust and quiet in terms of noise. The 6 inputs give enough for a small home studio to do the job, too. For me, the software was easy enough, but, again, I am already deeply in the Steinberg ecosystem for several Cubase versions and recently Nuendo... Due to this, I already knew the hoops that needed to be jumped through! All in all: Good stuff!!!

Bad USB C Connector
I would avoid this interface at all costs, im sorry Steinberg , but i have been incredibly disappointment with the build quality of this unit. The USBC port is obviously faulty, it started suddenly disconnecting, even tho i would get no software errors, even tho im on the latest of all the drivers (yes even my AMD USB 3.1 extensible host controller) On top of that, it happened out of no where, no update to my system, im on win 11 pro. The usb port is as loose as a goose and the support will NOT help you, they will tell you to go to amazon and are otherwise completly unhelpful which is insane for this price point imo. There is no reason for that for a <2month usnit that just sits on my desk. Its unbelievable. I will most likely be going back with my berhinger UMC404HD while i look for a new interface... ( of which i have had ZERO issues, and i've had it almost a decade now. ) I'm the unluckiest person in the world when it comes to getting new tech, and so your mileage will vary, but i have to say i was incredibly disappointment with this unit. Im only giving it 2 stars because of the absolutely fantastic support i got from amazon, you guys are the bomb. Stienberg could learn a thing or two. My advice, if you are on ryzen 7series and windows, avoid this product imo. And if youre using it and get a random disconnect the first week and you meet that criteria, do NOT disregard it, it WILL get worse. No amount of device swapping/restarting/resetting/reinstalling drivers for host controllers and ASIO will fix it. It will only continue getting worse. Immediately exchange if your unit starts doing this!!! Don't be me. To this moment im still not sure if its a driver thing or a usb thing, but one things forsure the port is awful. and their support is even worse. be careful. And you know what i even hate to say this because when its working its actually quite nice, but this past week has been hell. Buyer beware. Never ever in my years of pro audio did i ever think i'd say i'm going BACK to berhinger but here we are! I'll prolly go for a more expensive unit from a different vendor. But best of luck to anyone that does decide to go with this unit, IMO not worth it

Great Interface but needs an On-Off Button!
Up Grading my Home Studio from a Steinberg UR242 with USB 2.0 to the NEW Steinberg UR66C was a good upgrade. In the past the older interface had some latency that was easily controlled by adjusting the buffer size. For me this Buffer had to be changed depending on if I was recording or just mixing which was easy enough to do but one more step that I didn’t need to waste time on. The UR66C with its USB 3.0 connected through my USB 3.1 and “Super Speed” driver selected, this interface needed no buffer adjustments at all. Sound quality is Awesome as it is with all Steinberg products. Solid Build, Great Feel to the Knobs. Now for what I do not like… As with all products there will be something that you don’t like. This product is no different. In Steinberg’s Re-Design they took away the On-Off (power button) that use to be located on the back corner by the power plug. Without this On-Off button this interface is Always On. This may be fine for those of you that have a Full Time Studio but for my home studio this causes problem. For Music Production I boot to a Stripped Down Win 10 Boot Drive that has nothing but CuBase 10 PRO on it and in that situation “Always On” is OK. BUT this computer is also used as a Home Theater PC and needs to use the 6.1 Surround Sound Card and NOT the USB Interface... In that situation without an On-Off button you have to unplug the unit which is very inconvenient or leave it on which I don’t like to do. All in all, I love this interface but it really needs an On-Off button… Because of this I will have to connect the power supply to a switched outlet. Reliable
I was coming from an 18i8 that I continued to have issues with sound cutting out to this and have not had a single issue yet. Easy to setup with both my computer as sound card and in DAW.

Win 11 - impossible driver & software
Great preamps. Good price. Dsp is cool. Software is atrocious. Spent hours trying to get other DAWs to recognize multiple channels. Installation is hellishly complex and only allows for recording all 6 channels separately in proprietary software. eLicenser pops up a dozen error messages any time I try to open video editing software. Headache. Avoid if you have windows.
