Little did I know that a silver piece of cardboard was that important. When my microwave started arcing inside the unit when I was cooking I thought that it was going to explode. This piece of cardboard covers the microwave generator. If it gets dirty or loose it will arc. The new part cost me about $3 to $5 and I cut it to size on my own. They don't tell you how to attach it so I superglued it on. Works great!

Fit my Emerson small microwave perfectly for my tenant. Wow- what an economical solution to buying a new microwave! My tenant told me there was a flash and burning smell after using the microwave. There was a burn mark in the wave plate. After doing some research I learned all I had to do was replace the wave plate. Woohoo!

Tried using it for a nichrome wire set up because of it's heat resistance and relatively stable qualities. Didn't work as well as I anticipated, and probably should've used more rigid supports. As for use in a microwave, seems to do it's job. Pretty cheap too, so I'd say a nice purchase for those who need it.

Perfect fit for my microwave. When your microwave starts to spark on the inside all that's needed is one of these panels that you simply slide right in the slots and no more sparks. Delivery took only 2 days, thanks!

I was terrified when out the blue while using my microwave sparks and fire started shooting out of it. It was very scary. I started looking to purchase a new one. Coincidentally, I had a friend staying with me from out of state when she exclaimed, "oh, that happened to mine and I had to replace this thing". She pointed at the square thing on the microwave wall that I have seen many times before but never knew what it was...I said ok. Went to home depot to purchase one after researching and seeing that these things have to be replaced often... who knew??? Not me and apparently not the worker at Home Depot. The worker told me that they do not sell these and I would have to contact a specialty part store. I told him what I read and he said he had never heard that before...me either. We both learned something new that day. Luckily Amazon had it for one day delivery. It is literally like a piece of cardboard that is very easy to take the old one out and put the new one in. Literally fits like a puzzle piece. My microwave is now working like brand new and saved me a pretty penny.

These work great and are alot easier to cut and get in place than others I bought. its so nice to know that if I forget to cover my butter or something else that makes a mess on the board on the side that I can simply replace it

Pretty flimsy to begin with, and trying to cut these two sides just caused from like a surface to crumble so it was tricky to use these in several had to be tossed before we got one to work.
