Work Station
I'm very pleased with this product, At first I had a little problem with its work space, but I did adapt to it after a few days.

Great portable workspace
As the other reviewer stated this is certainly no toy; it's very rugged and reliable. The base will not slip due to the rubber attached to each corner. The magnifying glass is more than adequate and the arm is completely adjustable to any angle you might need. I have found there's no slipping or sliding once it's positioned either, which is great! The only drawback might be the light which is good but not great, however considering its size not bad. But that's a minor quibble. I just use my own lamp adjacent to the pad and get all the light I need. The paint holders allow you to place Tamiya paint and liquid glue real well; needless to say that's to be expected. Model Master paints, et al. were not quite as secure. I would also recommend getting the optional cutting pad which fits perfect and works well. I believe it's the A4 size but check to make sure. Overall a product that does what it claims and Amazon's price was the best I found.

tamiya work station with lens
Over all the product was very good, how ever I find the lens hard to use and at times the magnifying part is not enough for the detailed work that I need to do. The light also has issues at times it will not turn on after switching on the switch and will not come on till I either move the arm or tap it. The item is well built and durable, but for the price I might have been better served buying a large cutting matt and a large stand magnifyer with light.

Superb for modelers
Works well and is very portable, Magnifier lens works well and easy to move around. Recommend purchasing the Tamiya cutting mat as well. Together they make this unit a great way to build scale models.

Save your money. you are better off just using table top or desk and put your own lights and magnifying lighted lamps.they are much bigger and cover a wide area of view. like the ott lights. save your money

Over $100 and it does not include the power cord for the light...
save your money, I opened the package, put it together, took it apart and shipped it back. Piece of junk.

Great unit, but...
Nothing beats a proper workbench but if you've limited space this unit is excellent. It doesn't come with a power adaptor but I use a generic 6V plugpack with a suitable plug. One word of warning; If you do use a plugpack REMOVE THE BATTERIES! I assumed the batteries would be disconnected when the power was plugged in - not so. When I picked the unit up I found the battery compartment was hot and the plastic starting to deform! The batteries were too hot to touch, distorted and were probably minutes away from exploding.I will dismantle the unit and rewire the socket to prevent this but I probably won't use batteries again in any case. Maybe I got a dud but it's better to err on the safe side.

Oozing Quality!
I’ve got the modelling bug! Just doing my first model and already I’m spending money on equipment. Tamiya make quality products and this is a great example, it oozes quality, great simple features for modelling and the magnifier and LED lights are a great addition. The item is just the right size for a workstation, I’ve purchased Tamiya tools that are also over engineered for modelling but will last a lifetime.A fab product great price and pure quality, I hope Tamiya make a MKII eventually and I look forward to that very much.John

1 star product.
don't buy this work stand. it is a waste of money. the magnifying glass is poor quality and difficult to adjust and the light on it completely inadequate. all you get is a platform that will take an A4 cutting mat and do your modelling on that. even priced at £40 I would recommend that you find alternatives to this work station. I gave it 2 stars because I don't like to think that I hate anything.

Quality product.
Construction, sturdiness and flexibility of the arm are all adequate, however led brightness and focus I found could have been better. On unit storage and location of clips is good.Should be provided with a power supply for this price.
