Easy to swallow yes and no unpleasant taste but I've been taking a month now and haven't noticed any benefit to anything?

Have no bad taste, my gut health is better than ever. Feel genuinely healthier. Well worth the purchase. I recommend taking last thing at night, as to aid digestion over night.

Quality and volume

There seems to be increasing research on the Microbiome within the human gut. This is 'good bacteria' that exists within our stomachs and is beneficial to our general health. Many people may have heard of this through the marketing of Live Yoghurt and other products, but here we have a good combination of the important bacteria in tablet form.Research now shows the importance of maintaining this healthy Microbiome for good health and in assisting disease prevention, stomach problems and in building a strong immune system. It seems the weight of the gut bacteria can weigh several pounds and has a beneficial effect on many aspects of our health - there is a lot of information available on the internet for anyone who is interested.Because of all the above, I was keen to try this Bio Cultures complex for myself.The first thing that attracted me was the ease of consumption. Just one capsule a day with food and water seems a lot more convenient than drinks and other food products. These capsules contain a good mix of 5 of the most important strains of friendly bacteria in massive amounts and are of standard size, so easy enough to swallow. I have taken these for a few days now with no unpleasant side -effects, so I assume that the friendly bacteria are doing their work and setting up within my own gut. I am confident that this will have a long term benefit on my general health and wellbeing, although it is too soon to say as yet. There is 180 capsules here so enough here to judge how worthwhile it all is within the next 6 months.The capsules arrive in a sturdy container, sealed for security and with a best before date of almost a year. I'm pleased to see it is produced in the UK to GMP ( Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.I think it is well worth giving these capsules a try. The price is reasonable and just the one pack allows time to gauge their effectiveness before committing to further purchases.

I have been taking a Pro Biotic for a number of years. It had a minimal effect on my IBS type symptoms. I did a lot of research on the gut and what was wrong and I soon discovered that for the full effects of a ProBiotic, you must take a Pre Biotic prior to taking a Pro Biotic for it to work. Many Pro-Biotics now contain a Pre Biotic to enhance the absorbability of the ProB's, this tablet does not. It is simply a rather weak Pro-Biotic and compared to say the Bioglan products offer poor value.The Pre is like the soil in your gut, the Pro-Biotic then comes along and finds the soil and germinates. I am a great believer, given the evidence, that gut health boosts your immunity. I have suffered very badly with bloating, poor digestion IBS symptoms ever since an oversubscription of antibiotics damaged my gut flora, almost 20 years ago. Taking a Pre and Pro Biotic has slowly and I mean slowly, changed my gut flora and this combination has worked very well. Instead of a daily flare-up of symptoms, I am now down to a flare-up every now and again. I have also found that cutting out high carb foods has had a dramatic effect on my gut health. So what about this product? It contains no Pre Biotic. My regular Bioglan Pro Biotic contains 14 Billion cultures per tablet, this contains 1 billion per tablet. Whilst there is nothing wrong with this product, it is simply not the best product on the market for the price nor for your gut.If you are simply wanting to top up an already functioning gut, there is no harm using this product. If you are trying to repopulate the gut after antibiotics, IBS etc then this product is not going to be strong enough and you will also need a good Pre-Biotic. For many people with gut issues, this product will not work that well.

I've not noticed any difference in my bodily functions whilst taking these capsules but I suspect it would take a few months for any positive affect to be noted. If you have gut issues you'd most likely notice a difference much quicker though.They are quite a large capsule but with a drink of water they do go down easily. The tub contains 180 capsules and you need only one a day, there's a 6 months supply which is good value at £8.95 (current price). Its much easier to take one of these tablets to consume your supply of gut healthy promoting bacteria especially if you dislike the drinks and yoghurt that are aimed with the same benefits. It's also been found that those drinks and yoghurt don't actually contain the amount needed because of the treatment process for shelf life. The best way is to make your own yoghurt using culture's from your starter or buy yoghurt cultures. Or, you coukd just pop one of these capsules instead, so much easier.Each capsule works out at 1/2p which is great value when comparing to drinks and yoghurts plus if you have dairy allergies you're sti able to take these capsules safely.I recommend giving them a try. Your gut may thank you for it.

The interest in the microbiome has increased with the prospect of the positive effect on health. If you've had antibiotics or a preparation for a colonoscopy, you may want to "re-seed" the gut with good bacteria. You can eat green leafy vegetables, drink kefir and, takea product like this. I've had three colonoscopies in a short period, so that was the way I got my digestive system back to normal.This product provides a vaity of bacteria that produce lactic acid amongst other things. WebMD mentions that one of the bateria could be contraindicated if your taking a steriod such as prednisolone; in that case talk to your GP.Taking one a day gives six months supply and good value.Update Novembet 2020. My wife and I have had abdominal discomfort, so we have stopped taking them.
