Gila Privacy Black Static Cling Residential DIY Window Film No Glue No Adhesive 3ft x 100ft (36in x 1200in)

I bought a small roll of this at Lowe's for about $20. We tinted our sliding glass door in our bedroom. Our master bedroom faces directly East. We had curtains, the sun still beamed through the door. We put up blinds, still no relief. I'm tired of waking up at 5am because it's so bright in our bedroom and always HOT. We live in Arizona. When we put up the first panel I immediately felt the temperature drop. When we put up the 2nd I felt it drop again. Instant relief. We also had to turn on the bedroom light to see! The temperature dropped 4 degrees in less than an hour. I was sooooo happy we have decided to do the whole house, which is what prompted me to look for a bigger roll and buy this 100 foot one on Amazon. The hardest part is the cutting. The only thing the manufacturer could do to improve this product is put 1/8" gridlines on the back to make it easier to measure and cut. You do need a pretty large work area (as big or a little bigger than whatever size you are cutting). It needs to be level, a hard surface for cutting, yet smooth and clean. You need a yard stick sized ruler for the straight edge. It's so easy to install, my husband and I did the cuts and I could actually install it myself. You must use the spray stuff (Gila Window Film Application Solution) to apply it. You spray the stuff on the window (be generous in your spraying), then apply the film. At this point you can slide the film around until you get it perfectly in the position you want it to be in. You then just use the little squeegee thing that comes with the spray to smooth it down and get the bubbles out. I guess it doesn't sound very easy now that I'm typing it but trust me, it's simple. There are no bubbles in even our first window. It's amazing. It obviously doesn't black out your windows but it darkens your room about 75% more than it was. You can't see through it at all during the day from the outside but at night if it's dark outside and you have the light on inside you can sorta see in. It looks really nice from the outside, too. It's so amazing. This is the happiest purchase I have made in a long, long time.

Just bought a new home with a large sunroom and a front door I didn't want to keep open because everyone who approached would peer inside. I'm still in the process of applying to windows, but looks like enough to cover the sunroom, front door, and possibly enough for all windows in a home with over 2000 sq ft.I'm really enjoying this. Very easy to apply.I did things a little differently. I used a clean rubber container I had from the move. Filled partially with water, added a tiny amount of dish soap mixed well. Also used a spray bottle with sudsy water. I spent the day before cleaning windows, very important you get them very clean especially in the corners. For window cleaning before tint application I had a bucket of vinegar water and cleaning rags. Washed all windows before Windex.Came inside, ordered this tint and it was delivered in less than twelve hours. HUGE roll. I lay cardboard boxes from move on kitchen floor. I taped 3 boxes together, side by side, after flattened. Unrolled tint to be measured and cut onto that. I used a cutting wheel from my sewing box for floor trim. And a razor out of my tool box for window, door trim. A hard plastic sewing ruler on the floor. And a quilting square made a great squeegee. A few times, I used my driver license.I measured then cut a piece. Took that piece and put it in my Rubbermaid container that held soapy water. Let it sit there until I sprayed window with soapy water. Unrolled cut piece while in container, making certain I got it good and wet on both sides. Held it up to a window, peeled off paper and applied.It was really easy and fast! Used my quilting square and the bubbles came out like magic.Yes I would recommend this product.

Great material easy to work with. I choose the light version a little darker is better.

This stuff works great. I am on my second roll now. You can visibly see the room get darker when this is put on. It stays in place well and is easy to put on. The hardest part is trimming it close. Just be sure to have a sharp razor blade and a good thin straightedge. If you want privacy, from outside the house during the day the windows look like they are painted black. The downside of this is that at night you have to put your face against the glass to see through to the outside.

I ordered this product because it was literally half the cost of going to the local Home Depot/Lowes.However, about a week after I placed the order I received a solicitation call from a company claiming to be the sellers of this product. They initially said they were confirming my address on file was correct (which was strange since the product had already been delivered). I then was told that as a Thank You for purchasing the product they were sending me a $100 gas card. Then they told me that I needed to confirm my credit card information had been accurate. I told them I did not want to give them that so they said I could give them another card. I asked why I was giving them card information as Amazon had already taken that AND delivered the product. That's when they said that I would be placed in this "special" program for saving money on all kinds of items from airfare to groceries. I told them not to call again.So, as for my review - product is great BUT of the hundreds of purchases I've made on Amazon, having someone sell my information to solicitors has only happened this one time. NOT OK!

Fairly easy to install, in small sizes by oneself. Doing a patio door requires two people. Overall can be done effectively by the homeowner.Definitely provides privacy and cuts UV rays as advertised.
