A well reviewed, basic BP monitor and a good value too
This monitor received a favorable Consumers Reports review as being among the most accurate. That is important and why I purchased it. It comes with an excellent instruction manual, detailed yet easy to understand, good diagrams and a useful discussion of elevated blood pressure. The monitor is solidly constructed with a large display and numbers that are easily seen. The cuff has clear markings, helpful in proper placement on the upper arm. Like other monitors I've used, some practice is needed to make sure the cuff is placed properly, not too tight or loose and at heart level. The cuff inflates gradually, quietly. i feel the pressure of the inflated cuff but it is not uncomfortable. It then quickly deflates. Memory averaging 3 consecutive readings is available. It detects irregular heart rate. A nice extra is dual power, battery or AC. I've compared it once to a reading done at a doctor's office and the difference was very small, only 3 points. It's a good, basic monitor, doing its job well.

Had to start monitoring BP: This machine is simple, effective and accurate
After reading scores of different reviews and agonizing over which one to purchase I came across this device and it meets my needs perfectly. I didn’t need hundreds of bells and whistles and I don’t need to connect to yet ANOTHER app to have my information harvested for marketing…….smh……anyway, I just needed a well made machine that would do what I needed it to do: give me an accurate, easy to read measurement of my blood pressure. This machine does that! One caution: do NOT cinch the velcro too tightly! I did that the first time I used it and it cut off my circulation and hurt me. Just attach it and cinch it firmly but COMFORTABLY so that you can easily slide in two fingers but not so loose that it falls down. Just keep that in mind and it works very well. I had a doctor’s appointment today and my accurate readings were validated by their machine.

Good but basic automatic BP monitor
I keep hoping to find an automatic BP monitor that is as accurate as manual readings at the doctor's office, but so far that such thing has eluded me. This one was the highest-rated model on Consumer Reports but alas it still reads about 10-15 high for systolic, and 5-10 high for diastolic. It does seem to be at least a bit more accurate than the Omron models I've tried. They boast all kinds of features and bells and whistles, but all I really want is an accurate reading. This model is simple to use, and the cuff is pretty easy to put on yourself. Once on, it stays in place. The reading process is pretty long. It blows up to be good and tight, and then very slowly releases pressure. It's much slower than other models I've tried and it does get uncomfortable. Omron monitors are fast but I think this one is slightly more accurate. This model doesn't have any bells and whistles - no bluetooth or app, just a simple reading memory, which is all I really need.I will say the carrying case is super lame - very thin, small zipper bag. I can't even figure out how to fit the monitor in there with the cuff and it certainly won't offer any protection for the unit when I travel.

Best Budget BP Meter with a Special Feature
After reading Consumer Reports, I selected this budget unit. Supposedly, one of the top 5 accurate meters. Setting up and learning how to use was easy as I followed the instructions. Cuff is easy to size, and I keep it on the correct arm diameter. Comfortable. Readings are large. One special feature. By moving a switch, the unit will take your BP three times in a row. It averages out the high and low readings. Or you can go back to just one measurement. I would recommend this meter.

It also picked up an irregular heart rhythm that had just developed.
Easy to use. Like the memory feature.

Fast test, easy to read, and handy memory of past readings
This Rite Aid blood pressure monitor does the job at a reasonable price. It even checks for arrhythmia issues and will display an icon if detected. It will do an average of the readings, and the "memory" button allows you to scroll through past readings beginning with the latest. Nice unit and well worth consideration.

Nice Machine
I got this to replace an Omron that broke after 6 years. Very easy to use. The cuff sizes easily and is easy to put on. I have compared readings with other machines and it seems accurate. The power cord is a plus. Recommended by Consumer Reports. I definitely recommend this monitor. Very good price too.

Difficult to use
Not that expensive, easy to read. That was the good. The Bad. The hose on the cuff is too short. The cuff itself isn't the easiest to put on and not at all intuitive. When I went to the DR's I found out I was using it wrong and once put on the right way it wraps over the hose making an already awkward situation even more awkward. Comparing the readings from this to the machine at the DR's it wasn't consist in it's errors (giving both high and low errors) making me doubt it's accuracy. Maybe I got a bad one, I don't really know. Why three stars? It's fairly cheap and somewhat easy to use if you can live with the short hose. If you decide to buy one I would advise you to check it against a known machine before the return window closes. I'm long past that and am looking for something else.
