With roots in the Los Angeles country and folk-rock scenes, Linda Ronstadt became one of the most popular interpretive singers of the '70s, earning a string of platinum-selling albums and Top 40 singles. Throughout the '70s, her laid-back pop never lost sight of her folky roots, yet as she moved into the '80s, she began to change her sound with the times, adding new wave influences. After a brief flirtation with pre-rock pop, Ronstadt settled into a pattern of adult contemporary pop and Latin albums, sustaining her popularity in both fields.

One of my favorite albums
I purchased this on CD so that I could rip it to digital and listen on my phone. Previously, I've only had the LP version.Although I'm typically more inclined to listen to singer/songwriters who are instrumentalists, Linda Ronstadt is only a singer, not a songwriter or an instrumentalist. However, she took mostly older songs from the 1950s and 60s and brought them to life in a way that the original artists never dreamed of. Every song on this album is wonderful.And, hey, Sinatra was "only" a vocalists, too.

5 Étoiles pour cet album, qui les vaut amplement.Mais 0 Étoiles (voire moins, beaucoup moins) pour l'album reçu ! En effet j'avais commandé l'import ANGLAIS remastérisé et j'ai reçu ce que je vois aujourd'hui, c'est à dire un Import Allemand, qui n'est qu'une pale copie de l'Album Vinyle initial, sans livret (les auteurs-compositeurs n'existent plus, ainsi que les musiciens, les textes de chansons, quant aux photos, pour celles qui y sont, n'en parlons pas, elles sont... fades.) Vraiment très déçue de ce que j'ai reçu, heureusement il y a la version MP3-Autoip, mais ce n'est que du MP3....

Beautiful transparent blue vinyl! Sound is just OK. Apparently 180 grams doesn't garantee better sound, only a heavier record.

1曲目を聴いた瞬間、リアルタイムでＬＰに針を落とした感動が再び・・・もうイントロのギターから感涙ものです！そして「Just One Look」「Alison」と続き、まさにあの時代が心の中に戻って来ました。。。そう言えば当時、同僚の結婚式でお祝いの言葉代わりに10曲目の「やさしく愛して」をギター片手に歌ったのを懐かしく思い出しました。
