CamJam XT Rope Tightener - Large

I don't normally write reviews, but this product worked really well for me so I thought I'd endorse it. It's rock solid and work well to grasp the rope in the cam with no slippage. I use two of them to suspend my 130 pound kayak while I work on it. I use a 1/4" rope with it.

The CamJam XLs are an excellent product. I use them to secure a “Movies in the Park” screen using 1/4” double braid boat anchor rope. I usually set up 4 anchors on my screen. Once in place, I can easily adjust the tension. I’ve been using them for two years now and they have never failed. Quick to set-up and quick to release. I highly recommend this product.

Very well made and extremely easy to use. The aluminum construction feels solid and the cam mechanism holds tension well. Super handy for tying down loads, camping, or general utility use. One of those small tools that ends up being useful all the time.

It seems strong enough and I'm sure I'll get some use out of it. The cam function works ok, I just wish it was easier to engage. It works great once the rope is already in the came...then the role can be pulled and it will lock in place. But, if the rope isn't already in the cam, then it takes a bit of guiding to get the rope under the cam. Maybe I'm asking for too much? The other cams I've used around boats seem a lot easier to engage.

I always forget how to ties knots since I don't use them frequently. These camjams are the answer to my prayers. So simple to use, just clip like any carabiner. The rope locking cam works great and seems secure. I have pulled hard on it to tension the rope down and it has not slipped yet. The large size can use anything from paracord upto 3/8" sized double braid rope. Seems very strong and sturdy. Get the XT (aluminum) ones, the regular plastic camjams seem like a fragile plastic toy. The one thing I don't like about these are the cost....damn they are expensive.

Very heavy duty. The smaller size would have worked for me but I love these. They are heavy duty and the rope release is easy to use. I struggled with other rope tie-downs because the release tabs were to hard to use. These secure and release with ease.

I have the smaller aluminum ones that I use for now and stern lines on my kayaks, they work amazing and so do these! I bought these to try using with my hammock. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME, I used them to go from my tree straps to my hammock suspension lines for a quick and easy setup. Again, to cover my butt, these are not rated for climbing, and I do not recommend hanging your body weight from them!! These worked well, once I got my hammock adjusted I put to half hitches right at the hardware to help prevent slipping. Held 2 people climbing in and out of the hammock, and held me sleeping in it all night without slipping or issues

Wish I found this years ago. Well made and easy to use. So easy to re-tension. A must buy.
