I have been using LaCie external hard drives for over 10 years now and they have never failed on me. They do get old and wear out in time, but the new SSD's now, are not only faster but last longer and worth the money by far. 5-10 years supposingly. Better then 3-5 for most HDD. The new USB-C connection gives you faster transfer speed as well as compatibility with almost any computer with that port. You can re-format the drive as it comes with the new ex-FAT file system. Shipping was fast and efficient. Just buy one.

it's a nice build ssd flash drive and it looks good. its the only brand that looks premium and small. I like it works great with my apple labtop

I bought this in March 2024. By November it was not doing well, the USB cable was very loose in the HD outlet and my MacBook. Consequently, the drive would keep disconnecting randomly. I reached out to LaCie to see about a replacement under the 1 Year Warranty...only to find that LaCie are now part of Seagate. Colleagues have warned me against using Seagate products lamenting their poor quality. Nevertheless, I reached out to Seagate Support. Flash forward three months and I am still trying to get a replacement. Seagate Support is nothing short of appalling. Days pass between messages, my ticket has been shuffled through numerous reps none of whom seem to apprise themselves of the issue requiring explanations each time. The main sticking point of the whole process is that my RMA requires a minimal fee of 75c in order to be processed. For three months I have been trying to get this fee to process but all of my cards keep getting denied. I have spoken to my card issuers, and they say Seagate is rejecting the charge. I speak to Seagate and they don't know why and say they will elevate the issue. More weeks go by... Finally, I get an email today saying that when they issue the RMA order I have only one hour, (ONE HOUR!) from the time of receiving the email of the payment will be rejected. Dear Seagate I do not have all day to patiently monitor my email notifications awaiting your message so I can pay a paltry 75c fee. At this point why cant you cover the measly 75c with your billions in revenue? I am on the verge of giving up on this RMA and writing off the disk. I will never, EVER buy a Seagate product again and will tell everyone I know to boycott them for their shoddy products and pathetic support experience.

I use this external Lacie ssd for back up of birds and butterflies photos. I need a reliable and a the same time fast device. I am very satisfied.

It’s a fast and durable, good looking little drive. Great price for what you get. The cable is laughably short. I know usb c drives throttle speeds with usb a to usb c cables, so I used an Amazon cable advertised to be like 10gb/s and my speeds with this were 30mb/s or slower. So slow photoshop froze and I lost two fully designed files when I force shut down my system… I used a usb a to usb c cable that came with my old Samsung external ssd and it was faster… like 300mb/s. I’ve yet to find a cable fast enough to hit anywhere close to the advertised speeds for this drive, but honestly I’m content with the 300mb/s. Just know you may have similar issues so pay attention to transfer speeds with whatever cable you’re using.

PRODUTO: Eu comprei o "LaCie Rugged (Robusto) SSD Externo” de 2TB (STHR2000800). O produto é uma fofura, super pequeno e do tamanho da palma da mão (e não é o "Mini Robusto"). Pena que a porta de saída USB-C (lugar onde conecta o cabo que vem junto) do SSD externo não tenha uma tampa de proteção. O que é estranho, pois a LaCie afirma que esse SSD tem o IP67 de segurança, mas com a saída USB-C sem nenhuma vedação, recebe poeira e, se for o caso, água também. Então, não entendo esse selo da LaCie, se é seguro realmente. Bom, eu que não vou correr o risco de testar. Mas a LaCie pecou muito nisso porque recebe sim poeira. O cabo é bom e espesso, o que evita quebra ou rompimento fácil, demonstrando nenhuma fragilidade. O produto em si parece ser bom e não parece apresentar defeitos, mas só com o uso que eu poderei saber e ter certeza, pois eu ainda não efetuei a instalação para usá-lo. Mas ele abriu normalmente no meu computador (Windows 10) para fazer a instalação. AMAZON: A entrega foi super rápida, bem antes do prazo. EMPRESA VENDEDORA (RHA TECH): A empresa que me vendeu o "Rugged SSD Externo" de 2TB da LaCie é séria e comprometida em atender o cliente de forma rápida, ágil e eficaz. I have had so many HDD externals fail on me and had to buy expensive data recovery programs and spend weeks trying to recover lost files that I finally invested in this SDD external. It is tiny and FAST and stable and I love it. The only drawback is the cost per TB but it is worth every penny to not go through the lost data nightmare. TIP: Don't hook your externals up to a hub. Connect directly to your computer.

The pact is great - the seller is excellent. Had an issue not related to the product (or the 3rd party seller) - he however stepped up and went above and beyond in terms of service levels. Quick to respond and resolve. Highly recommended.

Compré un disco LaCie Rugged SSD de 4 TB en Diciembre del 2023, mi experiencia con LaCie era buena pues tengo tre LaCie Rugged de disco y me funcionan muy bien, cambié a este para colocar en él las Fotografías y Videos y así conseguir que Lightroom y FinalCut me funcionase más rápido que con los que ya tenía y mi primera sorpresa es que se desconecta con frecuencia y el Sistema del MAC me avisa de que no lo he desconectado correctamente, cuando no he sido yo sino que lo hace solo y para colmo se calienta bastante. Después de haberme gastado cerca de 600€ esperaba un disco más fiable y además no entiendo porqué se calienta tanto. El catálogo que uso más frecuentemente en Lightroom tiene unas 20.000 fotos, pero con los otros discos de LaCie Rugged a pesar de no ser SSD me funcionaba mejor. Confío en que Amazon me de una solución. Amplio la reseña porque otro LaCie comprado en Febrero del 2021 “La Cie Rugge USB-C 5TB que lo había comprado para usarlo solo como “Copia de Seguridad” se me ha roto, comenzó a hacer un levísimo ruido y en dos días dejó de funcionar, contacté con varios servicios de recuperación de datos ya que La Cie me dijo que ya no estaba en garantía la recuperación de datos y solo “Clínica de Datos” me ofreció un servicio fiable y que solo cobrarían si se podía recuperar los archivos. Después de varios días me confirmaron lo que se podía recuperar, pero me ha salido por “860€” incluyendo un disco de 1TB para copiar los archivos. Un Desastre y Especialmente por la falta de ayuda por parte de La Cie en los dos problemas que he tenido y además ha sido en los dos últimos discos duros que he comprado,n uno SSD y el otro este mecánico. “LA CIE NO ES FIABLE PARA AYUDARTE CUANDO LOS NECESITAS.
