good long shelf life (4+years), instructions on inc card/packaging, must have item
Little package of 100 tabs takes up very little room. Half the size of a pack of cards. What I received was 10 packets containing 10 tabs, for total of 100 tabs. Rubber banded, with instructions/info car wrapped around it, then plastic wrapped. I have no issue with this. The individual packets do not contain instructions, but the card that wraps around all the packets does. Keep that card, or memorize it.Acquired 02/2022 with expiration date of 10/2026 (this is printed on each packet)--There are decent instructions ON the packaging itself which is most important to me. You can see it in one of their product pictures. This has instructions on use for purifying water from rivers, streams, cisterns, etc (1 tab per 1/5 gallon/25 ounces).--And then there are instructions for cleaning individual water systems (1 tab per half gallon/64 ounces). So consider your needs, and buy accordingly. Plan to not drink it right away as the water needs to sit for a bit first. Also, do what you can to clean the water of debris. As for product page info.. Instructions aren't real clear, and answers here aren't real clear on the product page, so look at the package itself as mentioned above.I have no problems with this order or this brand. I keep some in my car, in my hiking bags, in my GO/GOOD/BOB bags. And among my home supplies. Not a hardcore prepper, but I am conscientious of basic daily needs and how tenuous things are. Having clean water is vital, and these are very good to have on hand. I like them better than iodine, and I think they are way easier than the two step additive systems. Just use more of this if the situation calls for it. Taste of chlorine is not bad compared to other purifyers.

Good for the apocalypse
My dog chewed them up, but before that happened, they appeared as indicated.

Backpacker's and Hikers Essential
Per another recent review. First of all the packaging is correct per the pictures. If you look at the pictures closely. I suppose this has been a correction.I was confused as others about the correct amount of water it will treat. I then saw the Q&A were it states to use one tablet to .75 liters. This is about 25 ounces. And that's if the water is obtained in the wild. Lakes, springs and rivers. Otherwise if treating tap water then you can use the other chart. 1 tablet to 2 liters. Yes the instructions are not clear about this.I have not tried it yet, but will soon when I do my next long hike. I plan to still use a water pump filter to get my water from the creek into my 24 once bottle. Then I will treat it with the one tablet.I'll post the results then.

Peace of mind for safe drinking
I took these tablets back to my home country, where the water causes upset stomach to almost everyone who travels from overseas. I was being very cautious with drinking water and did not compromise my safety concerns for anything else. I would boil the water, filter it and then use one tablet in a precisely measured 2L of water, wait for 30 minutes before drinking it. I personally did not have any issues with flavor, but my daughters complained that they found the flavor unsettling. However, I left the remaining tablets for my family back home and they have been satisfied using it so far.

The best water tablets!
My 2nd purchase. Very useful for Mexico travel. Cleans up tap water from spigots, showerheads, faucets. The locals won't drink the water, but thanks to these tablets, I can do so with zero issues! For clear water, one per gallon suffices.

Extremely poor directions. But the company explained how to use the product correctly.
I emailed the company to explain that their directions were confusing and inapplicable to the product that I had.The company was very responsive in helping resolve the issue. However, the problem still remains in that the directions appear to be incorrect. The company informed me that the Aquatabs I received, with a finished weight of 49 mg, were 8.5 mg tablets with 5.0 mg available chlorine content. The company sent me additional literature which showed that such tablets are to be used as follows: 1 tablet treats 1 liter of water. Simple, right?Honestly, for the life of me, I don't know why that is not printed anywhere on the directions!!! And there is no way of knowing how much available chlorine is in the tablets except for the fact that the company emailed me and told me.If the packaging had been straightforward and said one tablet could go into one liter of water, I probably would have given this five stars. But the fact that even the reading material that was sent to me by the company is still convoluted and confusing and requires clarification directly from the company, I still have to give this three stars. I have not used this yet, this entire ordeal was just to figure out how many tablets I needed to treat water.

Used these in recent backpacking trip
I used these tabs in my recent (April 2021) 6 day backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon. We used water from springs, from puddles, and from the Colorado River -- which was fortunately not silty. We didn't get sick, so either we were lucky or the tablets worked. It is useful and important to filter out any visible junk in the water -- when I was filling water bottles from a puddle with a little plant matter, I wrapped my handkerchief over the top of the bottle before submerging it.I just received a new order of these tablets. Each packet has a use-by date of 2026. I'm storing them inside 2 plastic bags, with some water absorbing packets. The 100 tablet pack came in the form of 10 strips of 10 tablets each, all wrapped together in plastic with an instruction sheet. The web page and the instructions on the packaging are a little confusing, at one point referring to 2 liters per tablet, and at other 3/4 liter per tablet. I guess that is because the instructions refer to 2 possible desired levels of chlorine concentration. To be safe, stick with the 3/4 liter per tablet usage. The water will taste a little chlorine-y, but no more than tap water.I'm subtracting 1 star because of the confusing instructions. But we were pleased with these on our hiking trip. The picture I attached is one of the places we got water from on our recent trip. Otherwise, has very little to do with this product. But it was pretty there.
