When I say drenched, I mean actually dripping wet. I spent about an hour de-greasing, re-treating the leaves and parts with a dry wax lubricant, and reassembling (and stopping to debur a few nasty edges). The metal this is made from began to rust almost immediately once stripped of the oil and dried. The stamped numbers are faint, and some are incomplete, so unreadable. Despite being mostly de-burred by what appears to be an abrasive media tumbling process, there are still burs which makes some of the leaves stick together - and worse, have a razor edge (soaked an unknown foul smelling grease). I regret buying it.
