No more of grandma's crochet patterns!
When I saw the title of this book and the pillow on the cover, I had to buy it. I am so glad I did! Finally something I can crochet without it looking like it belongs in Grandma's house. I am not a talented crocheter and am newly back to crocheting. The first project I made was the coasters - after finding the right yarn, they look great. Next up was the pillow on the front cover. I worried that it would be too difficult, but it turned out great! The videos on the website are a great help as are the detailed photos in the book. I recommend this book for beginning crocheters as well as advanced.

Great gift for a new crocheter!
This is a beautiful book that really lays out all the basic concepts and skills of crochet for the new maker. As a fairly advanced crocheter myself, I didn't find anything that I didn't already know, but to be fair I was aware that would probably be the case when I bought the book. I still would want it in my library because I think it is a clear, modern and beautiful way to show someone else that I might be teaching crochet to. I've found that sometimes, videos and some of the older books can be a bit uninspiring and difficult for a new crocheter, especially someone who isn't fully committed to crochet yet, but just trying out a new skill/craft. This book presents crochet in such a straightforward and clean way that I think it will get new crocheters excited for the craft. This particular copy I bought is going to be gifted to someone who is a new crocheter who really struggles with information overwhelm. I think having everything she needs to build skills in ONE beautiful place is going to be a game changer!

A great example of timeless and minimal crochet
It is a beautiful, minimal crochet book that I purchased a year ago now. That was when I picked up crocheting for the first time. I enjoyed making the blanket patterns the most. I love the texture forward, monochrome designs. The headband was my first make, and it looked like a bandage on me haha, so that shape didn’t work out for me. I also made the super-sized scarf which used a beautiful (I believe herringbone) stitch, but the size of it ended up being impractical for me. To each their own though! Crocheting is such a subjective experience. Overall, I find the book inspirational and a good example of what modern and minimal crochet looks like.

Absolute must have resource for any crocheter at any skill level!
This book is incredible. It is so clean and well designed. It is easy to read and the instructions are clear. The first time I sat down with it, I had about 15 minutes to flip through it and learned a few new things just in that time frame. I’ve been crocheting for years but I wish I had this from day one. I can’t wait to make each of these patterns! Each pattern is so well written and easy to understand. The images in the book and videos that come with it are an added bonus. I also love that there is a rule in the cover and a hook conversion chart! I will definitely be using this book all the time. The price is honestly dirt cheap because of how much I’ll use this. I would recommend this to anyone who loves crocheting. You really don’t need to know how to crochet before opening this book and you can work through the whole thing and be at least at an intermediate level.

My GO-TO Book for Crochet
Let's cut to the chase right off the bat: This is the book to buy if you've been wanting to learn to crochet and just can't seem to figure it out. It breaks down each stitch into really understandable step by steps and includes pictures of each of those steps. I basically use it as a reference material. Now that you know that this is THE book for learning to crochet, it is also filled with a variety of lovely patterns that are easy to follow (especially with the great reference section on stitches). For things like blankets, DeBrosse provides a variety of finishing sizes so you're not stuck with whatever size the creator chose. This is the only book I have recommended to multiple people for crochet. If you haven't bought it, do it for the reference section in the back on how to complete stitches. That alone is worth the cost.

Livre à la hauteur de mes espérances ! Inspirant et très didactique même pour les débutants - seul reproche : peu de réalisations proposées dans le livre.

I had always wanted to learn to crochet and saw this book. It taught me all I needed to know and is my go to guide if I need help with any stitches. So easy to follow and everything is explained very clearly. I now consider myself very good at crochet, thanks in no small part to this book.

This is a very beautiful, very beginner friendly book. What I enjoyed about it the most it let's you create handmade pieces that you can display in a modern home or wear timeless hats and scarves. It is very nicely written, every project explained in detailes and plenty pictures of the finished product. The one disappointing thing about the book is that it covers only 16 projects with not much variety of looks. I still recommend it a lot for someone just starting out their crocheting journey.
