The positive: If it's any indication of how much my ferrets enjoy this, every single time I put them into their playpen they go for the tunnel. They play chase, one of my ferrets likes to hide under crinkle packing paper (I highly suggest saving the brown shipping paper Amazon packs things in as an extra ferret toy!) then she will zoom out and bolt through the tunnel to chase out her brother and sister. They all play in it and I love that it's translucent enough to watch their antics.Now, the negative: as a few other reviews have mentioned, the metal wires poke out of the ends after minimal use. I remedied this problem with some heavy duty tape, but for safety I NEVER leave them unattended while they play in this, and check the integrity of the tape after each play session. At $16, I expected a safe and better quality toy. I suggest going to a hardware store and getting plastic tubing or duct work and giving this a pass.

I got this tunnel here because at the pet stores it is WAY overpriced. At first, I was hesitant because it seemed like a basic tunnel that probably wouldn't last very long, but I'm glad my husband convinced me to buy it. My 2 older ferrets (both 9 months) really enjoy chasing each other through the tunnel while the baby watches from outside. They leap over it and have a good time with it. I would recommend letting them go in the tunnel by themselves the first few times because my husband made the baby go in the first time and she got scared, so now she avoids going in. It does expand to a nice length even though you have to hold it expanded or else it collapses again. Overall, a good buy for $15.

Why does it smell so bad???? The one I received, in its packaging, appeared to be new, unopened product, smells exactly like skunk. I understand that plastics go through off-gassing but this thing has been airing out for days and it still smells horrible. Functionally, its great! My ferrets love it. It straight up gives me a headache. Its gotta go in the garbage.

I thought that I would be just as excited as my ferret for this tunnel, but his enthusiasm greatly outweighed myown. There was only a slight smell of plastic fart, but nothing like the toxic whiffs from the alternatives (I was considering buy a much cheaper option that was NOT made for animals). Even still, with the faint plastic smell, I let this one air out for a few days while fully-extended. Fred, my little man, LOVES the tunnel and I HIGHLY suggest it for any ferret owner! Have your camera ready!Definitely worth the few extra bucks for peace of mind!

This thing was pretty great - while it lasted! Bought it for my ferret 2 months ago to wrap around the inside of his cage, and just finally about a week age he's decided to chew through it in two separate spots. :( If you know your ferret is a chewer, don't even bother with this tube, just go to Home Depot and get those heavier duty drainage pipes - they are cheaper anyway! But the downside is that they are typically black, not see-through like this clear one is. Aside from the fact that this tube is easily chewed, my ferret did enjoy using it while it lasted. He loved to carry his toys in and out of it and sometimes stash them in the middle. :p

This tube is so much fun for our ferret and for us. It took him a little time to warm up to it, but eventually he started going through it and then after he got used to it, he started running through, going through on his side or back and even going backward through it. We like it because it's clear so we can see him in there when he stops and looks around or spins his body around. We recently got the Marshall ferret ball pit (Pop and Play) and it hooks up to this Thru-Way tube and he absolutely loves it! He runs through the tube now faster than he used to and gets really excited about playing in it. I recommend getting the ball pit if your ferret likes this tube.

Very fun toy!! She can go all through it and I can see her sleep in it. You can tie it in several loose knots to keep it open always. My babies love it and when I play with them in it, it's challenging for them. It collapses completely but extends quite large.It has to be held by the ends or knotted up otherwise it'll collapse like an accordion. The materials are a rubbery plastic. And hold up well in playtime. It would be difficult to clean when it gets real dirty. If it got that bad I'd just get a new one. So far it hasn't been chewed through but with determined chewers, it won't last long. They somehow know not to chew it, and they just sleep or run through it.Great toy!

My ferrets absolutely love this tunnel. We ended up buying two: one for their playpen (hooked up to a ball pit), and one for the office floor. You can even wash this tube with soap and water, and towel it dry, and it won't rust! (We had a shorter tube that came with the ball pit, and it did rust after we washed it.) Very sturdy & holds up well over time. Collapses down and can be held in a soda "fridge pack" case/box if you don't keep the original packaging.
